You get upset? Why? Do you feel you were in the later of the two categories I mentioned? If so, you clearly stated, you were there by choice. I mentioned two possibilities, I never said which was you.

How am I prosecuting you? I made a series of observations, asked questions. At no time did I accuse you of doing anything more than butchering a beautiful language. If you are upset, perhaps you need to look in the mirror.

I will try to be as unbiased as I possibly can.

I understand what you are trying to get at with the so called 'Satanic Goths' but your depictions of them seem totally unreasonable.

This person had some excellent points but no one seemed to notice them.

This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. "Goth" is a fashion, it has nothing to do with religion whatsoever. And by the way, there are quite a few of these that have nothing to do with being goth.

1-Frequently wears black clothing. Some people look good in black. Priests wear black. How is wearing black against God?
2-Wears band and/or rock t-shirts. Plenty of people like rock music who aren't goth. Thats just stupid.
3-Wears excessive black eye makeup, lipstick or nailpolish.
4-Wears any odd, silver jewelry or symbols. Some of these include:
reversed crosses, pentagrams, pentacles, ankhs or various other
Satanic worshipping symbols. Wearing these symbols does not make you goth OR a Satanist. I have seen goths wearing crosses before, because they were Christian. The pentacle is a sign of the elements, spirit, and life, death and rebirth. Wiccans/Pagans do not believe in Satan so how could they worship such an entity? And plenty of Wiccans are not goth.
5-Shows an interest in piercings or tattoos. What about Christian rock bands? They have piercings. What about people with tattoos of Jesus or the cross?
6-Listens to gothic or any other anti-social genres of music.
(Marilyn Manson claims to be the anti-Christ, and publicly speaks against
the Lord. Please discard any such albums IMMEDIATELY.)
7-Associates with other people that dress, act or speak
eccentrically. So if I'm not exactly like everyone else that means I'm Satanist? If I'm a little unusual I'm evil? Thats ignorant.
8-Shows a declining interest in wholesome activities, such as: the
Bible, prayer, church or sports. What in the world does sports have to do with anything Godly? And as I said before, you can be goth and still love the bible.
9-Shows an increasing interest in death, vampires, magic, the occult,
witchcraft or anything else that involves Satan.
10-Takes drugs.
11-Drinks alcohol. Neither of these makes you goth. It makes you a substance abuser. Yes there are druggy goths and alcoholic goths, but there are redneck and preppy ones too.
12-Is suicidal and/or depressed. This could be the most ignorant one so far. Depression is a psychological problem that is not under the sufferer's control. Not all goths are depressed and not all depressed people are goth.
13-Cuts, burns or partakes in any other method of self-mutilation.
(This is a Satanic ritual that uses pain to detract from the light of God
and His love. Please seek immediate attention for this at your local
mental health center.) Satanists do not hurt themselves. They do all that they can to live in pleasure, so that is a lie. Cutting/burning is a manifestation of severe depression or bi-polar disorder, again not something the sufferer has control over. (By the way I am a psychology major, so I know what I'm talking about.)
14-Complains of boredom. What kid isn't bored sometimes?????
15-Sleeps too excessively or too little.
16-Is excessively awake during the night. Sleep disorders such as insomnia have nothing to do with being goth either. Besides that, some people like the night. Its prettier when the moon is out, and lots cooler in the summer.
17-Dislikes sunlight or any other form of light. (This pertains to
vampires promoting the idea that His light is of no use.)
18-Demands an unusual amount of privacy.
19-Spends large amounts of time alone. These are signs of depression not signs of being goth, or ungodly.
20-Requests time alone and quietness. (This is so that your child
may speak to evil sprits through meditation.) There are a hundred different reasons that a child could want quiet. Also, prayer is a form of meditation, and the type of meditation you are referring to is used to calm the mind, not speak to anyone or anything.
21-Insists on spending time with friends while unaccompanied by an
adult. This is a normal part of being a teenager, it is part of healthy development.
22-Disregards authority figures; teachers, priests, nuns and elders
are but a few examples of this.
23-Misbehaves at school.
24-Misbehaves at home. These 3 just mean your child is a brat in need of an attitude adjustment, it has nothing to do with goth or any other style.
25-Eats goth-related foods. Count Dracula cereal is an example of
this. Its Count Chocula and its chocolate cereal. Its food. It tastes good. I'm sorry you are such a freak that you think people go out and pick food by their clothing style.
26-Drinks blood or expresses an interest in drinking blood. (Vampires
believe this is how to attain Satan. This act is very dangerous and
should be stopped immediately.)
27-Watches cable television or any other corrupted media sources.
(Ask your local church for proper programs that your child may watch.) TV is bad? How is that?
28-Plays videos games that contains violence or are of a role-playing
nature. Whats wrong with an RPG? It stimulates the imagination and strengthens problem-solving skills.
29-Uses the internet excessively and frequently makes time for the
computer. What does the computer have to do with being goth?
30-Makes Satanic symbols and/or violently shakes head to music. Ok.... its called headbanging and while it could be considered goth its nothing more than getting into the music. I'm assuming by satanic symbol you mean the rock on sign, which means just that. Rock on/rock out/this rocks etc.
31-Dances to music in a provocative or sexual manner. This would be hip hop not goth.
32-Expresses an interest in sex.
33-Masturbates. This means your child is horny/sex oriented/ slutty, not goth. I know multiple goths who saved/are saving themselves for marriage.
34-Is homosexual and/or bisexual. Being gay does not make you goth nor does being goth make you gay.
35-Pursues dangerous cult religions. Such include: Satanism,
Scientology, Philosophy, Paganism, Wicca, Hinduism and Buddhism. This does not make you goth it makes you Satanist/Pagan/Wiccan/Hindu/or Buddhist. Philosophy isn't a religion, it is a required college course for anyone wishing to become an educator.
36-Wears pins, stickers or anything else that contains these various
phrases: "I'm so gothic, I'm dead", "woe is me", "I'm a goth".
37-Claims to be a goth. Wow you got two right. Yes, these 2 actually make you either a goth or a pathetic poser. But as I feel like I have said a hundred times, goth does not equal evil.

Forgive me but I have to agree that the original post seemed ridiculous. More than half of the youth in North America would be considered as goths if all these rules apply.

You have to understand that most goths are not Goth because they are Satanic. Most goths are only goth because of the style, the fashion.

Please, correct me if I'm wrong but I don't recall anything against Goths in the Bible.

Some things you said to the people who disagree with this really aggravates me. They have the right to speak and there is absolutely no need to throw them off in such a harsh manner. It was rather quite rude, the things you said to them.

Son, have you actually read the Bible (KJV1611)? I mean it starts out in Genesis all pleasant, with God creating the universe, with the "let there be light" and all – and then kicking back and taking a break and enjoying the nice scenery and all. Even the Garden of Eden is a nice place, with Adam walking gently through the fields and meadows (and naked to boot – it sounds like one of those bucolic advertisements for a nudist colony). Adam didn't have a care in the world, free food, free health care, a booming economy – everything was provided for (much like those socialists and Marxists promise). Well, it didn’t take long for things to get nasty as Jesus started not much caring for what was done with the free will given to his creation. "Love" quickly gave way to a lot of carnage when God was not worshiped in the way He had intended. Get with it son, the Garden of Eden is gone and nothing you and your Goth friends can do will bring it back. There is only one way to Salvation now, and that is through the Bible (KJV1611) and the Saving Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.

As I recall it, Jesus often went around calling people things like a generation of vipers, hypocrites, wicked, adulterous, Satan, faithless, perverse, fools, serpents, killers of the prophets, dogs, sinful, sons of the devil, thieves, robbers, and much more. Jesus was really only nice to those people who accepted Him as Lord and agreed not to sin anymore.

Yes, but how do you love your enemies? Perhaps you are familiar with this well-known Bible verse:

Leviticus 19: 18Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

But have you read the verse directly before it?

17Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.



To love someone means to rebuke them, or else you are just standing by and letting them go to the fiery pits of hell.

When I read that I think that it means to rebuke them when they diverge from the lord. If they do something you think is wrong but is completely ok in God's eyes, then they are ok.
