1-Frequently wears black clothing.
I did because low cut, revealing, girly tops didn't really appeal to me

2-Wears band and/or rock t-shirts.
Does Three Days Grace count? I used to love that band

8-Shows a declining interest in wholesome activities, such as: the
Bible, prayer, church or sports.
I was somewhat into sports but didn't do too much. I'd rather read than run around kicking balls. (although dodgeball seemed fun)

12-Is suicidal and/or depressed.
I went through a very rough time with school and family issues.

13-Cuts, burns or partakes in any other method of self-mutilation.
I did cut myself because I wasn't allowed to hurt anything else because it's wrong and I felt I was worthless for some stupid reason.

14-Complains of boredom.
I didn't find things interesting too much. I'd get distracted or lose interest after a while.

15-Sleeps too excessively or too little.
I had insomnia at one point due to stress.

16-Is excessively awake during the night.
The insomnia

19-Spends large amounts of time alone.
I just didn't like dealing with people because I was burned and screwed over so many times.

20-Requests time alone and quietness.
Was emotional and didn't like showing it

27-Watches cable television or any other corrupted media sources.

I liked TV but grew up with, "If you imitate what's on there, you cannot watch it anymore". It doesn't seem that it corrupted me.

28-Plays videos games that contains violence or are of a role-playing
nature.
I just liked playing videogames, I got the same rule about the TV, too.

29-Uses the internet excessively and frequently makes time for the
computer.
My friend moved and I'd talk to her if I had any problems and I didn't have anyone else who could give me advice.


Does that mean I'm damned? I guess I wasn't AS bad but I sure didn't seem corrupted. The whole goth thing as a popular phase, apparently. I dunno.
I've brought Jesus Christ into my life and am nowhere being any of those.

Response to your articles on Goth

I was studying the internet on the subject of goth art among other things and I stumbled across your web page and was both shocked and dumbfounded at some of the things that I read, samples of which I will quote briefly.

It amazes me that any but the most fullible could think they were following God when they aspire to the anti biblical views I saw expressed in your message board. First off, among the quotes I read that left me speechless was this one under a post entitled "Is Your Child a Godless Goth": "If there is a mass shooting at a schol you can be sure that a goth was behind it all". This from a school teacher, my pity for who she teaches.

I found that some of your people claimed to be elders and pastors, which confirms for me the doctrines of false ministers of Satan passing themselves off as God's preachers. You claim the unsaved are welcome in your church, yet I seriously pity any Goth who comes looking for God among your condemning, hypocritical, judgemental and condemning church. Even if you perceive that someone is a sinner, by your standards, did not Jesus walk among "sinners"? Pity him if he came into your church wearing black!

First off I notice that among your slandering and angry statements about goth, which are way off base anyhow, you also managed to pick the worst examples you could find to represent the entire subculture in your photos.

It would take me personally an entire sermon to enlighten you not only on how horridly your web page strikes anyone who falls upon it accidentally, but it would be a waste anyhow since I am certain that any of your people who read the stuff will be of the same distorted opinionanyway.

This said, allow me to enlighten any of you who read this on the subject of Goth from the inside, one who has always been one.

First off, While there are goths into Satanic issue, there are also many Christians wearing white and preaching on Sunday who are equally evil, if not worse, especially when posting pages which preach black hatred of other human beings. These by no means represent the entire group. You people have obviously done your tiny bit of home work off the internet and very little of it.

Goth of itself is a subculture that dates farback ahead of the 80's punk movement and it also includes people like me who are of victorian taste, who like old styled clothing, top hats and antiques. There is nothing sinful about those things.

Many goths are Christians and have web pages devoted to reaching out to the lost, hopeless and hurting, none of which I see represented in you condemning BURN IN HELL web page. You unjustly condemn people because they are different. This alone is rebellion against the God you claim to serve and your photos of your members are a shame to them.

Most goths do not drink blood, cut on themselves and I have yet to find an actual goth who was guilty of a murder, let alone a school shooting. The guys at famous Columbine were not goths, they were psychos in trench coats.

While some goths are into the music you mentioned, most of us are into other, very different music, including classical and such bands as Nightwish (look them up, some of their music involves biblical themes). I personally wear crosses of all sorts, none of them upside down.

Vampires? In case you havent heard, vampires that rise from the dead arent real. Those of us who like the look enjoy it because of the clothes and the early styles.

Goths are born with a sense of appreciation for dark beauty such as rolling fog, candle light, old houses, etc. We also do not see death as an evil morbid thing but simply the end of the life cycle. We like old cemeteries with old stone monuments and angels. We are not afraid of things that make people like you cower in fear.

We are accepting of others because we are neither better nor worse than our fellow human being and we do not condemn others because of sexuality or any other reason, as you do, with malicious and black hatred. Goth Christians reach out to others to help them and show them light in a dark world.

Wearing black is not a sin. Wearing makeup is not a sin. Eating cereal is not a sin, there is no such thing as goth food.

There are many goth churches and they are not as poison filled and arrogant as yours is. I was so shocked I had to double check and make sure you were a church and not a divine revelation.
