I have five cats and have never had an issue like this. I assure you that the warning thing works. The only reason why it shouldn't is if they sense you're vulnerable and in turn not a good leader. It's like an overly nice mother trying to punish a misbehaving child...usually doesn't work.

BUT, to answer your question, it would depend on the circumstances surrounding his nipping of people.

I just stumbled onto this thread and I for one am shocked.

Just when I thought we were making progress with her, she let satan allow her to spit in GOD's face!

It's too bad that I couldn't come in time to also help penetrate my love from JESUS, and GODLY wisdom into her! After all, magic always happens during a Bible session with me, Rev. Green with the HOLY BIBLE 1611 KJV in the Study.

Shame. Yet another will have to be chucked in the furnace that heats the comforts for the rest of us sitting by the RIGHT hand of GOD!

Moon, please calm down. It was not a step I wanted to take. She had nipped other people before, we had tried thumping her on the nose, and she didn't get the message. Biting her back was the only thing that worked. And I made sure not to break the skin or leave a bruise. A quick nip on the tip of her ear was it, and it got the point across.

This is nonsense. Cats don't have human understanding and biting the cat will not get a "point across". They won't understand why you have done it. If its behaviour changed after you bit it, that was coincidence, nothing to do with your bite.

Cats will accept a rap on the foreheard -- this is what mother and dominant cats do to kittens or lower-ranked cats that they don't want to really hurt, but just discipline.

It is suggested that this is done with a rolled-up newspaper. The notion that cats will understand right and wrong is a common mistake pet owners make. The cat will learn that it gets a bad reaction from it's owner if it does certain things, but that won't stop it doing them when the owner isn't there.

If you want to make a cat stop jumping on a bench, for example, you should cover the bench with metal plates etc, so when the cat jumps up it will knock them flying and get a fright. This will make it think this is always going to happen, and stop doing it.

You need to do some research and wake your ideas up before you're had up for cruelty to animals.

There is or was something else going on here that we don't have enough information about. Cats will sometimes nip quite sharply if people pet them when they don't want to be petted, but rarely hard enough to draw blood. Young kittens that get excited in play can get a bit rough by accident, and so on, but you haven't told us the circumstances under which your cat was biting people and just how savage its biting was.

My Christ hating, atheist, Joo marrying sister cat is a biter, at lest with me. Anytime I get near it, it bites or scratchs me. My sister says she doesn't understand it since it never done that to anyone else. I think her husband put the cat up to it.

Last time I pulled out my pocket Bible to ward the vicious beast off, it ran in the corner had hissed at me. My sister won’t let me near it now.

After all my hard work in trying to help her, it looks like Kiki is turning her back on Freehold and True Christianity™.
Pastor Ezekiel tells me she has declined my generous offer to come and slave work for me.
Anyway Kiki, if you happen to read this, please don't lose any sleep over this matter. I've found a more suitable candidate who can also help with the Garden.
I particularly have a large Bush that needs trimming.

Pastor, I had allocated a $5,000 a month additional allowance to help with her Child's schooling and so she could buy some good True Christian™ clothes that we mentioned earlier.
