I believe that some things in the Old Testament still stand strong. But some things had changed when Jesus was born.

Which things, and how do you tell the difference? Upon what basis, other than what you think is right?

However, given that God is all-knowing and all-powerful, don't you agree that He knows exactly what the Bible says, and is able to change it at will?

You're quite mistaken, dear. We don't manipulate the Holy Bible in any way. If you've noticed, this forum has a script which automatically links any Bible verse to a website that has the entire Holy Bible written out. This is for your own good - to see the Word in its entirety, in context, in all its Glory. If anyone tried to manipulate it, that would be easily and quickly discovered. Of course, no True Christian™ would care to manipulate the Holy Bible in any way. It is Perfect as it is God's Own Specifically Chose Word.

You know Mr Smyth these wretches - and I use the word quite happy to agree that I was a wretch myself, like Paul fighting the pricks - are forever burbling how we take God's Word out of "context" (whether grammatical context or socio-historical context I don't know: they never seem very precise) and I'm quite content to wait for well thought out questions. Obviously I won't be proffering any opinions, but am always happy to post appropriate Scripture and it speaks for itself so clearly.

The Lord spoke through the prophets and The Law, through Psalms and Proverbs and the Gospels in a very direct manner. Mary Magdalene for example did not require a Masters degree in ancient mesopotamian sociology to receive His Love and neither do we.

But because the doubters are such wretches I'll stick with the more time consuming method of posting KJV references in this thread if we're going to get a spate of bizarre logic, like this:

How long do you need? It would seem that if we were misquoting the Bible left and right, you would be able to find dozens, maybe even hundreds, of examples in that time.

But, you and I both know a secret: you have not seen a single instance of us misquoting or giving a private interpretation of Scripture.



Sure, you've seen some things that made you pause, but if you actually took the time to read the verses posted, and more importantly read them in context (i.e., read the complete chapter, or book), you know we are right.

It hurts to know you've been lied to about God and Jesus and the Bible your whole life...trust me, I know. I went through the exact same process you are only now starting.

Do me a favor: even if you decide to leave, get a KJV Bible and start at Genesis 1:1 and end at Revelation 22:21, take lots of notes, reread the parts that are difficult to understand.

And if she was walking around outside, like most pregnant women do these days, then doesn't that mean you were born in sin? And if so, doesn't that contradict your earlier statement about it being impossible for a Christian to sin?
