  • Should he kill me?

Hello brothers and sisters in Christ,

My brother swore to God if I don't deliver him a cake within five minutes, he is going to kill me. I was busy making my dad pie while he said that, so I gave him the cake in six minutes. Now he is unsure what to do with me. Since lying is obviously an abominable sin, especially if you lie to our just and almighty God, and at the same time taking a vow is a sin, should he fulfill it or just get his ass mocked next Sunday?

Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: Matthew 5:33

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Matthew 5:18

I love Jesus with all my heart and I will die for him if it means not causing another to sin again. I would rather lose my body than my soul.

Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: 1 Corinthians 10:32

And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: Mark 9:47

Is your brother with Jesus or NOT with Jesus?

Respect for your father's wishes is much more important than that for your sibling regardless, but if they should BOTH be without Jesus, then they are not worthy of your pie nor cake making skills at all. If they are not with The Lord, then forsake them both. Your reward for being the only one WITH The Lord, will grant you the ultimate reward.

      PRAISE JESUS!!!!!!!!!

      Matthew 19:29

And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

      There's Jesus here,
Just see what He offers me....
      Down here my sins forgiven,
Up there a home in heaven
Praise God, That's the way for me!!

        Re: Should he kill me?

I'm not aware of any scripture that calls for capital punishment for failing to obey an order from your brother. A father can go to the city elders to have a rebellious son stoned (Deut. 21:18-21), but a brother can't just go off and kill his sister for failing to obey.

My grandmother gave me that recipe. Found out the hard way that you should look everything up before hand.
