Re: Best way to make kids shut up?

Well I plan to go into teaching when I finish my degree and to be honest I think María's advice here is better than the most, unless of course if you're dealing with delicuents or harding criminals maybe.

I think motivation and mutual respect is part of it. You have to seem you are enjoy your job, but you also have to be serious and professional too, so you can't be their like, big pal or all friendly with them

You have to be sensible and reasonable when you're in position of authority I think.

That's my 2 euros worth anyway,
Titus 2:4 : That they may teach the young women to bee sober, to LOUE their husbands, to LOUE their children.

(What every girl really wants in her heart, so I'm cool with this. And have a really nice happy day )

      1 Timothy 2:11-15
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing.

Rule 1. Don't hit them. No matter how hard it is with those little brats you simplyy can't. Be as nasty as you can with detention and yelling but don't strike them. You may want to single out as a individual target for your wrath- pick on him, yell at him, when he messes up just exclaim, "Oh, what a shock. Can't you even TRY?" You may even go as far as to when a kid tries to make fun of you, you walk right up to him, raise your hand and threaten him that you WILL hit him and he WILL submit if he doesn't obey right now and you don't care if you end up in jail. It will knock the air out of him without even having to punch him in the gut. It's also make it super awkward between you, the class and the boy.

The best way to make kids shut up in my village is to throw them into the ice cold water and pull them up again, and we repeat this until they behave and shut up.
