It was a hypothetical question... at least, in regards to the husband. As yet, I am single. And I don't plan to marry until God sends the right man along.

Beyond that, why would I need a man's permission to visit the site? That's about as ridiculous a comeback as I've heard on here, but then again, looking at who's speaking, I can understand why you'd choose to debate that point.

      Thanks for the thought, though.

You really aren't familiar with the Holy Bible at all, are you.

        1 Timothy 2:11-15
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing.

Do you understand the meaning of silence? How old are you anyway? Does your father know that you are in here mocking God's favorite church?
        Who Will Jesus Damn?

Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

I do know the Holy Bible; I've been reading it since I was very young. Your verses are valid, but I also would like to point out a few others that are not to be missed.

"Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies... She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness." Proverbs 31:10, 26

Obviously, God did not intend for women to be silent all the time. In the course of the detailing of a virtuous woman, we learn that she plans the day's work for her servants, which clearly shows that she must speak to them at some point unless she wrote it down... unlikely. Also, she conducts a business transaction, and that must require some form of communication, again, I'm guessing speech. She finds the best cloth and food and bargains, which again implies speech. She helps the poor while probably talking.

Again, you are trying to base one principle on one verse while ignoring the rest of the Bible.

I do understand the principle of silence, and I'll have you know I practice it very well. It is not necessary at all times, though. Besides, the verses you quoted speak only of teaching a woman, not of those moments when she is not learning.

My age is rather irrelevant, don't you think?

My father would not mind my being on here. He doesn't know, but my mother does; in fact, she probably told him over the phone earlier. They would both support me in my decision to be on here talking and trying to understand you people.

You are confused, as most females are. I was not referring to the administration and management of household servants. Do you imagine that everyone here on God's favorite forum are your servants to be commanded?

Outside of dealing with servants and answering questions directly put to you, you need a man's permission to be here debating Christ's message with Men who are superior to you in every possible way. So the Bible says.

My age is rather irrelevant, don't you think?

I asked you a question. Don't be a smart-mouth. I strongly suspect that you are under about 15 years old.

My father would not mind my being on here. He doesn't know, but my mother does; in fact, she probably told him over the phone earlier. They would both support me in my decision to be on here talking and trying to understand you people.

Pastor Ezekiel, because I'm a nice person, I won't take your insults to heart. I don't believe I should be ashamed of myself when I'm only defending my beliefs against people who have repeatedly derided me and called me inflammatory names.

Look at the quality of my writing; I'm sure you'll see I'm well over the age of 15. However, since you obviously haven't made that connection yet, and since you seem to be rather superior, I'll say it again. My age is irrelevant. I'm old enough to be conversing with someone like you, and that's all you really need to know.

Now, you've got it backwards again. I do not, in fact, imagine people on here to be my servants. That is a silly thought, and it was the farthest thing from my imagination when I quoted Proverbs.

By the way, if you'll look closely, you'll see that the woman works out a business transaction. To be precise, she purchases a field. I may not be up to date on all of my ancient transactions in history, but I'm guessing she wasn't bargaining with a servant. It also does not say she asked her husband's permission to do so.

I do not need a man's permission to talk to men on this silly forum. You have women debating on here from your own Landover group, but I guess they've gotten special permission to do so. However, to satisfy your desires, let me assure you that my dad approves of my visiting websites and forums.

And, going back to the age thing, let me assure you that I was not being smart-mouthed. You simply asked a question that, to me, seemed rather irrelevant to the conversation at hand. Let me know why it is so imperative that you know my age, and I'll be more inclined to tell you.

Well, you should get a man's permission. I am as yet an unmarried lady, but I have the permission of my brother. My father is unfortunately deceased. My dear brother is the new head of household in his stead. He's younger, but that's irrelevant, as a woman I have no real importance whatsoever in the eyes of God, until I have a husband chosen for me so I can start to bring new little soldiers into the world.

You are indeed a hussy, coming in here without a husband, parading yourself like a trollop.
What decent man would want you, knowing you flaunt yourself about all the menfolk?
Truly dear, for your own sake, show some modesty!

Why over the phone? Do they not live together? Do they even know each other's last names?

Friend, are you a bastard? Because the Lord has some very bad news for you if you are...
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

Jumping to conclusions again. You might want to stop doing that. My dad is on a business trip and won't be back til the end of the week.

If you genuinely are turning your back on God's love, then this is a sad day for us all. Of course, I know that it must be God's will to make you reject Him and carry on your path towards Hell; but still, it seems kind of sad to me.

And, if you cling to that verse in Luke, does that mean you don't acknowledge the verse in Ephesians? It's quite obvious, and it's spelled out just like this one in Luke. How do you resolve that?
We may as well ask how you resolve them...

Surely Jesus in the first instance -- in Luke -- is talking to those whose families and wives were not True Christians™ and is rightly telling them that if they want to be diciples of Him they must hate their unsaved trash of familes. If a man has a good True Christian™ wife that is a different matter and he should love her -- but not to anything like the degree he loves Jesus.

Quite simply, in Luke Jesus is talking to those unequally yoked with unsaved trash, while in Ephesians the message is to church members who have True Christian™ families.

Interesting. We get many false Christians on this forum but it is not often that we get a false mooslim. And no, we certainly will not give you the phone numbers of any blonde blue-eyed Christian Ladies. What we will give you, my good Arab fellow, is instructions about how you may find the Lord. The one and only Lord -- the Lord God of Israel! We will teach you the True™ way to Salvation© through the Blood of Christ. But it will involve your repenting and giving up your false prophets.
