If I behaved like unscaved scum, a loving neighbor would point that out to me. You seem to think letting people make mistakes that will end in their eternal damnation is the right thing to do. It's not.

Re: Should You Wait Until You're Married to Kiss???
Good point. I don't see how kissing within the context of marriage glorifies God, so I don't kiss my wife, not even during sex. You don't need to kiss to get the job done. No one else sees me having sex, so kissing can't bring glory to God. Seeding my wife with sons, however, does glorify Him.Originally posted by dknyrepublic View PostInstead of asking if kissing is wrong or right maybe we should ask if and how it will glorify God.

Re: Should You Wait Until You're Married to Kiss???
Mary- You are right about how God detest lust. Lust starts in the heart. If you're walking with the Lord your heart will be sensitive to the spirit. Kissing can be a slippery slope. We shouldn't put ourselves in situations that tempt us. But the question was "Should you wait until your married?". While the Bible doesn't say thou shalt/ shall not , you did bring up scripture that references how God views lust. Lust starts on the inside ( heart and mind)and comes to the surface by actions. Romans 1 talks about fornication which stems from lust. Instead of asking if kissing is wrong or right maybe we should ask if and how it will glorify God.
Again this is thinking out an issue and being able to back up our convictions. I should have been more specific about the part in a previous post about saying parents should do more then just say "because I said so." While living under your parents roof obey their rules. Why? Because God said to honor them. But parents should be teaching their kids( teens) to think things through -Like the possible consequences of kissing. If they can't through why they have hope when asked, how can we expect them to answer a not so theological question as "why haven't you kissed yet and your 30."
Even though Dr. L. Niles mentioned Matthew 6:25 in regards to thinking, isn't that passage talking about God providing and not worrying about our needs?
And yes I am a Christian. I have a trust relationship with Christ.

I just told you. It sets parents up for failure and sets children up for damnation.Originally posted by dknyrepublic View PostSince when is being able to articulate why you believe something or why you have a conviction a bad thing?
That's an answer to the hope you believe in with regards to Salvation! Not persuading your children to be obedient! Goodness!Originally posted by dknyrepublic View Post1 peter says be ready to give an answer to the hope you believe in.
Kissing leads to lust. Lust really angers the LORD. I mean, really angers the LORD (Matthew 5:28 ; Colossians 3:5; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; etc). Maybe not as bad as kissing another person with the same plumbing (Leviticus 18:22 ), but it's up there, and why play with fire, know what I mean? Why taunt the LORD with something you know He just absolutely hates so much (Revelation 21:8)? Besides, it's not like you can hide it from Him. He knows when you're feeling randy even if you're not consciously aware of it at the time (Psalm 139:2). You can't fool God. No one has hidden anything from Him since Adam and Eve played Hide The Pickle In The Garden and look how He responded (Genesis 3:23-4)!Originally posted by dknyrepublic View PostSo knowing how to communicate why do I /don't kiss brfore marriage is being obedient.
My neighbor isn't unsaved scum. Why would I call her that?Originally posted by dknyrepublic View PostAlso name calling like "unsaved scum" isn't exactly love thy neighbor as thy self is it?

Being able to articulate is a great thing. Little more proves the accomplishments of God than man's ability to clearly and with little doubt, convey deep and meaningful concepts. You should try it.Originally posted by dknyrepublic View PostSince when is being able to articulate why you believe something or why you have a conviction a bad thing? 1 peter says be ready to give an answer to the hope you believe in. Who called who 'unsaved scum' and was it justified in the eyes of Our Lord?

Re: Should You Wait Until You're Married to Kiss???
Now that's just silly! Parents who have to convince their children by presenting an appealing argument are setting themselves up for failure and setting up their children for damnation. A child need not learn to navigate social expectations, a child needs to learn obedience. An obedient child will stay out of trouble because he will naturally obey Christ as His Will is written throughout the Holy Bible. Can you really imaging trying to argue with God Almighty?Originally posted by dknyrepublic View PostHopefully those parents are explaining why and not saying "because I say so." Helping kids /teens learn to think through world view issues is important especially when they are out of your house.

Whoa there, young lady> The last thing a True Christian(tm) is going to do is to teach their kids to think for themselvesHelping kids /teens learn to think through world view issues is important especially when they are out of your house.
Matthew 6:25 "Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?"
The Bible(KJV1611) tells us everything we need to know.
Are you even a Christian?
God bless.

First of all, this is NOT a debate forum. We're right and you're wrong, according to Jesus and the Holy Word of God. Please read THIS thread before making an even bigger fool of yourself.Originally posted by dknyrepublic View Post... tl;dr... too opinionated.....
Secondly, while the internets might seem to be "free" to you, this particular corner of the internets is a privately owned Christian forum. The rights you have on this forum are listed HERE. Please contact a Pastor immediately if you feel that any of your rights have been violated.
Finally, your unsaved opinions or tantrums are not even slightly of interest to us. We follow the Holy Word of God TO THE LETTER, and make no apologies for that. One of the most important commandments in the Bible tells us to avoid unsaved scum such as yourself. You wandered in here uninvited, and unwelcome .
If you want to debate people, THIS is the place to go.
Please make a thread of your own in the "Introductions" section of the forum, so that we can properly greet you. Tell us about yourself, your church, and how you came to find Jesus.
And if you're here to flame us, better take a look at THIS before making an even bigger ass out of yourself.
I will pray that the Holy Spirit enter you and chase the demons out of your rectum and let Jesus fill you with His Grace. If you use your God-given free will to reject Christ and His temporary death on the cross for my sins, then you are sending yourself to hellfire.

Re: Should You Wait Until You're Married to Kiss???
After reading a lot of the comments, I am blown away and some of the convictions ( opinions) and perspectives. Some I agree with, others are extremely illogical. Kissing is intimate but one could say so is hugging. The Bible says greet each other with a holy kiss. Romantic kissing between couples is obviously different. It's a personal conviction. Kissing to some is a slippery slope. Holding hands could do the same.
I saw some parents comment about how they wouldn't let their kids to do that. Good I agree! Hopefully those parents are explaining why and not saying "because I say so." Helping kids /teens learn to think through world view issues is important especially when they are out of your house.
As an adult my conviction is no It is not a sin to kiss before marriage. Why? I think it is a heart issue as in a non issue. Being in a trust relationship with Christ makes me want to honor Him. And dating/ all areas of life should do that. I had friends who wanted their first kiss to be at the alter on the wedding day. While I applauded their ideas though semi legalistic I felt the need to mention how nervous they will be that day, with family, friends watching would they want more pressure on their first kiss. Lets be honest the first kiss is one event you can not forget.
Whether you are totally against against kissing or for it God still loves you the same.

Re: Should You Wait Until You're Married to Kiss???
You certainly should wait at least until you are married to kiss. But that doesn't mean you have to start then. The late Mrs Godfrey and I were married for thirteen hellish years and only kissed twice and both times she snuck up on me. I blame that second kiss for little Tammy Faith being born with a hairlip.

I must avow that I hadn't taken too much time to consider this subject.
If by kissing you mean both parties slurping and covering their faces with each others spit then i would assume that AT LEAST a bath is in order.
Leviticus 15:8 And if he that hath the issue spit upon him that is clean; then he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.
BUT if it is a proper pledge of respect from the woman with her father's approval...
Luke 7:45 Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
I would have to study the subject further, with proper counseling.
PRAISE THE LORD!

What orgies you have with your children is your business but be aware that God is watching you and will send you to hell.[/QUOTE]
Very valid point. So many of are youth are running around acting like Miley Cyrus with this "twerking" business. She even went as far as to say, "one in the tush is better than two in the bush".
With no real Christian role models to lead the nation's children we are in real trouble. It makes me wonder if those dirty, filthy mooslims have the right idea with the moral police. Basically old peoples running around with canes whacking kids up side the head who want to make out in public.
