I hope that you did not misread my first post to say that I'm not a Christian. I merely disagree with the logic presented here.

I do understand that you did not invite me. However, based on scripture (Mark 16:15) I feel called upon to write here all the same.

I'd like to point out that I was not making a case for abortion. I was merely pointing out that if God only loves those with full mental faculties, then God does not love unborn infants. I find that thought utterly appalling.

My other point was that basing an argument solely on the old testament (here Leviticus) runs the risk of leading straight to judaism. Consider this:
* Our lord and saviour was brought up in a jewish family and obviously quoted jewish scripture.
* He also knew himself to be the messiah - a jewish term at the time.
* However, he clearly wanted to change judaism - if he did not, we would all be jews.
* If the jewish Torah, as described in Leviticus, applies to christians, then I hope you haven't had any pork recently (Leviticus 11:7-8)

Now, I agree wholeheartedly with Father Thomas Martin, who pointed out that Jesus cured both the blind and the crippled.
Bobby-Joe replied, that these stories are obviously allegorical.
What a slippery slope to tread. I thought you gentlemen were serious about taking the King James Bible literally. I wonder where the bible states, that these stories are allegories. Indeed, the bible is quite clear on when Jesus is telling an allegory or a parable.
