Although I do not care for his liberal politics, the host of TV's "The 700 Club" has pulled through a heart operation thanks to the prayers of thousands of Christians. Let us add to the prayers that this fine man will recover soon to return to television.

Pat Robertson, 79, on mend after heart surgery

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson underwent 10 hours of surgery to repair a heart disorder and is back in Virginia recovering, a spokesman said Monday.

"He's really doing well, recovering very quickly," spokesman Chris Roslan said of the 79-year-old founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network. "He's doing great."

Robertson, who has scaled back his official activities in recent years, was treated Aug. 19 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital for atrial fibrillation. He was released last Thursday, Roslan said.

Robertson underwent convergent procedure, which involves cauterizing the continually beating heart muscle with heat generated by a radio frequency. The procedure is less invasive than traditional heart surgery and uses four small openings to hasten recovering time.

During the surgery, doctors also discovered an abnormally enlarged left appendage on Robertson's heart. They believe the appendage, which was removed, was the cause of Robertson's atrial fibrillation.

"Only the prayers of thousands of believing people kept me on this earth," Robertson said in a statement.

He said he expects to resume a full schedule in several weeks.

I am a bit surprised that Reverend Pat caved in to the lies of the Liberal Medical Lobby and had any sort of surgery at all. If he is as saved as he claims to be, prayer alone would have healed his ailing heart.

I think this proves he is just another false Christian pretender and that he does not have the faith that we True Christians™ have in the unending power of our merciful God. It appears he has only temporarily delayed his inevitable trip to hell by spitting in the Lord's face with this god mocking surgery.

I agree. I think his 15 minutes of fame when he steered Hurricane Gloria in 1985 and Hurricane Felix in 1995 away from the CBN centers went to his head and made him too prideful. I guess he thinks he doesn't need God anymore.

I am glad to hear he pulled through. There is so little decent programming on TV, that I'd miss old Pat. Maybe I'll take the family down to the beach next week end and swing by Pat's place. Have the missus prepare a big basket of bacon, gravy and biscuits and a few of the girls pies. I know Pat loves to dive into a good pie from time to time when he is not ministering to the men.

Well it was amazing he took credit for it when it was Jesus who moved those storms. That heart attack was a gentle admonishment from the Lord to give thanks to those whom credit is due.
