That's a very nice letter, Jimmy.

    So much nonsense!

You never heard of Sri Lanka? Ask anybody whether the Hindu Tamil Tigers were gentle people?

Buddhist Japan never hurt anyone? Are you serious?

Who cares what these false religions do anyway. I read the Bible and I act according to it. What these Hell-bound heathens do or don't do is none of my concern.

Thats common sense? Really? My god stupidity and ignorance on this level is a rare thing to see I think when you die you need to be studied so we can't combat your stupidity like it was a disease. So why didn't God stop the planes from hitting the towers? Christians being fed to lions for hundreds of years what about that? or Hurricane Katrina why didn't god stop that? Pearl Harbour where was God? What about the genocide of Armenian Christians by the Muslim Turks? (Which I'm sure a mormon like you has no knowledge of) It's Happenstance you mormons free will remember? Tectonic plates shifting anybody ever read an actual book? Common sense thats amazing thats staggering it really is. Sick peole like yo will push peole away from God not towards him. Online heroes hiding behind your keyboard judging the world in the name of a God who you can't begin to comprehend. Especially with your lack lustre knowledge of Christianity and it's teachings.

God wants us to wipe out everyone who doesn't think or feel the way we do cause of this and that verse of the bible. No you know who wanted to get rid of everyone that was different? Hitler not God Hitler you depraved psyco. Go to your church and pray for forgiveness that i am not nearly strong enough to offer.
It certainly is a little ironic to be called ignorant by someone who has not read his Bible and who cannot spell ("thats" instead of "that's", "stupidity and ignorance is" instead of "are"), but never mind. I imagine you are not a native speaker, so welcome to the forum and welcome to America! I hope you will like it here.

Romans 8:17 says that Christians will suffer for their faith. They have enemies who will persecute them. Romans 8:28-29 tells us that we become more Christlike through our suffering.

Do you see? There is a difference between feeding Christians to lions and flying planes into buildings on the one hand, and an earthquake/tsunami/nuclear meltdown on the other. In the first case, Christians were persecuted by NON-BELIEVERS, other humans who attacked Christians for their faith. The Bible tells us that this will happen. Remember that Japan attacked us, too.

But what happens to those people? God eventually catches up with them. Muslims have a sorry life, their Imams and Sheiks torture them mercilessly in theocratic dictatorships. The Roman empire eventually turned TO Jesus and had a reign of a thousand years! Japan, well, we have already discussed.

You really need to re-open your Bible and study our religion a bit more carefully. Everything you have brought up here is consistent with God's Word.

And again, welcome to Landover. I hope you will come to learn and to fellowship.

    In Him,

    Alex

We don't interpret the Bible, we read it. And there are numerous Passages where God commands His People to slaughter other peoples, including babies and children:

    Numbers 21:34-35:
And the LORD said unto Moses, Fear him not: for I have delivered him into thy hand, and all his people, and his land; and thou shalt do to him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon.
So they smote him, and his sons, and all his people, until there was none left him alive: and they possessed his land.

    Deuteronomy 2:33-34:
And the LORD our God delivered him before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people.
And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain:

    Deuteronomy 13:12-16:
If thou shalt hear say in one of thy cities, which the LORD thy God hath given thee to dwell there, saying,
    Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;
    Then shalt thou enquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought among you;
Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.
And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for the LORD thy God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again.

    1 Samuel 15:2-3:
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.
Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

As you can see, we don't need to "interpret" the Bible to "make it say" that God wants babies to die. It's just what the Bible plainly says. On the other hand, I think that even the most absurd explanation can not "interpret" these Passages to say that God doesn't want them to die.

Do you think that Jesus who forgave those who killed him while they were killing him wants this beatiful peaceful landscape washed away!
Why not? God did things like that before:

    Malachi 1:2-3:
I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob,
And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.

God hates Esau, and ruined his land, so that only dragons would live in it.

I'm surprised my user name wasn't taken cause all you peole have done is take your own so called righteous indignation and twisted it to clebrate the genocide of a peace loving simple people.
Again, we do so because that is perfectly acceptable for a True Christian™. Consider how King David prayed for his enemies:

    Psalm 109:4-21:
For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer. And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.

Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand.
When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.
Let his days be few; and let another take his office.
Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.
Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour.
Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children.
Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.
Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.
Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.
Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.
As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.
As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.
Let it be unto him as the garment which covereth him, and for a girdle wherewith he is girded continually.
Let this be the reward of mine adversaries from the LORD, and of them that speak evil against my soul.
But do thou for me, O GOD the Lord, for thy name's sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me.

Are you calling King David evil? And, for that matter, all the saints who died during persecutions during all history:

    Revelation 6:9-11:
And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

Condoning this horror is immoral and absolutely incomprehensible to me.
What you are condemning is Biblical Christianity. God will send you to Hell for this:

    2 Thessalonians 2:11-12:
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

You know the history of your Bible when it was written originally and revamped in 1517 by a man a mortal man.
Are you suggesting that God, Who is omnipotent, failed in preserving His Inspired Words in the Bible?

The god I was thought of in school and in church was one of love and the words that stayed with me were spoken from the heart no rehearsed from a book.
Then your god isn't the God of the Bible, Who wants us to live by Biblical Law, not by the "imaginations of our own hearts:"

    Deuteronomy 29:19-20:
And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:
The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.

You can interpet this and make yourselves feel better but all you are doing in celebrating death and that is sick depraved and against everything christianity stands for.
That is a completely ridiculous lie. I have just showed that our words and opinions in this matter are taken straight from the Bible. The best way to decide if anything is consistent with what Christianity stands for is consulting the Bible, which we always do.

You people have darkness in you and you are all scum.
Thank you for your hatred. God says we are blessed by your persecution, so thanks for strengthening my Faith in this!

    Matthew 5:10-12:
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

We are merely celebrating the power of God and His divine presence on Earth. So many atheists deny God and yet God shows them in the most vivid way that countries that turn their back on Him cannot expect to get away with it forever.

The very first four of the Ten Commandments are clear that God should be worshiped and no other gods shall be put before him. Japan does not worship Him. They put other gods before Him.

Read Exodus 20:5 "Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me."

What was Japan doing three or four generations ago? Hmmm? Well, I'll tell you: Worshiping the emperor as a god AND attacking Christian countries (ours) and killing Christian soldiers (ours again). Don't you see? God's wrath is still alive and well, and in God years only about 10 minutes have passed since WW II.

It's from the Bible, we do NOT make this stuff up! Please don't kill the messenger. Read your Bible, friend, and you will find the comfort there that if you believe in Jesus you are saved and I think that's the most important thing, no? More important that these hindus or whatever in Japan who have had years to turn to Jesus but choose not to. Yes, they suffer now, but imagine their suffering after Christ's return? Pray for them, please, that they turn to Jesus before it is too late!!

It is perfectly allowed to pray to God to make bad things happen to evil people. After all, it's for their own good:

    Psalm 83:9-18:
Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:
Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.
Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:
Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.
O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.
    As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.
Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:
That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

you should be sad and mournful that they could not be saved there is alot of innocent people over there being killed.. while everyone here is screaming "More deaths, that will teach them." all this death and chaos is making people wonder if there is a god..
Whatever the disaster is, there is never a reason for anyone to not believe in God:

    Romans 1:18-22:
    For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools

In other words, God's existence is clearly seen, and disasters like this earthquake just show His Eternal Power and Godhead. Atheists are without excuse. If they don't start believing in God now, they will burn in Hell.

only the true christians can see the miracles he does admist the chaos.
This is a common method of fluffy-bunny false Christians to delude themselves into thinking that God is someone who only does nice things and wants to cuddle us all day.

If a school collapses, and out of five hundred children ten "miraculously" survive, then your kind of Christians only see God's act in saving the ten, but conveniently ignore that God also caused the other 490 to die. Maybe He has had a reason to allow Japan being struck by an earthquake? After all, God is omnipotent, so even you can't deny that God cold have prevented the earthquake if He didn't want it to happen. So why didn't He?

The Bible gives the answer, of course. God makes bad things happen to people because they are evil:

    Proverbs 12:21:
There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.

    Amos 3:6:
Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?

its not your place to judge who is evil and who is good...
    Yes, it is:

    2 Timothy 4:1-2:
    I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

    1 Corinthians 2:14-16:
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.

    1 Corinthians 6:1-3:
Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?
Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

So are we. However, God is sending catastrophes like these for exactly this purpose! Consider this Passage:

    Amos 4:6-12:
And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.
So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured them: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.

We learn from the above Passage that God sends catastrophes because He wants people to return to Him. In the days of Amos, He sent hunger, thirst, crop failure, animal pests, plague, war and destruction upon Israel, for the purpose of making them return to Him! Yet, like the Japanese, they didn't. Isn't that very sad?

above all i do not wish that they go to hell i hope all these people who were spared will see the light and get a second chance to find god.
So do I. Therefore, I pray to God to send another catastrophe, to convince them.

You seem to know very little about the Bible, which clearly states that bad things are judgments from God. Why do you call yourself a Christian?

And anyway, if God didn't cause these things to happen, who did? Do you think He wouldn't have prevented the earthquake if He didn't want it to happen? That it did happen, means that He wanted it to happen. That's simple common sense.

above all i do not wish that they go to hell i hope all these people who were spared will see the light and get a second chance to find god.

I am truely sorry if i came off sounding like that but i most certainly did not mean that.

I'd rather pray that they find Jesus and get their souls saved.

Why do you want these people who have ignored God thus far to continue to do so, and spend eternity in torture in Hell? Why do you hate the Japanese? I wouldn't wish that on anyone . . . Not Saddam Hussein, not Michael Moore, not even Nancy Pelosi!
