the ball curves (duh) I don't think I can put it in any simpler terms. in laymans terms - the ball curved off the straight line you expected it to take, and thus you end up with an unforseen result.

Exactly. But for a start, this wasn't an unforseen result. It was being predicted for months. That's not a "curve ball", even by your definition.

A curve ball is a tricky delivery for a batsman to hit. Metaphorically, it may mean a tricky question, or something else tricky to handle. To say the results of an election are a "curve ball" is not a sensible use of the term. And when the results are according to the predictions that have been made all along, even your definition doesn't fit.

That the demoncrats may gain power in these last days is hardly something to be surprised about. Read the Bible, KJV1611, and you will see why.

The fact that it was predicted is a matter of public knowledge and public record -- I could show you a thousand newspaper aritcles to that effect if I had the time. The polls have been predicting it for months. Are you saying this isn't true? All the polls and all the pundits predicted it. One hardly needed to be a pundit or pollster to predict it. That Satan's lies had borne fruit and the Godly President Bush's approval rating had fallen, and that Satan had turned people against the Godly war in Iraqistan was also a matter of public knowledge.

Incidentally, the suprise result of Bush's term is that the Republicans gained in the first mid-term election after Iraqi was invaded. No doubt you predicted that to, just as I am sure you got the re-election of John Howard in Australia correct.
