Re: Overwatch: Overdue For A Ban!
May i say this post is kind of dumb Overwatch has nothing to do with religion you are trying to take things and even though religion is never mentioned you connect religion to it. i play this game but guess what i respect christians i have friends who believe in god personally i don't believe in it but i respect it if you do. this game is for fun so i will correct all your mistakes.
Reaper: Died due to a fight resurrected blamed overwatch and is evil.
Mercy: A medic who uses science as her medicine and clearly shows sympathy to reaper through voice lines in the game.
Genji: A japanese man who was struck down by his brother to make sure he did not die had to have cyborg parts.
Winston: A monkey who was named after a scientist and is a common name.
Zenyatta: A robot who believes in peace.
Symetra: i believe you were very racist on this point she doesn't create portals to hell they never show this let alone no evidence of this happening also in her country they have peace and high tech building because this is the future.
Soldier 76: A former agent also this game takes place in the future so he did not fight in vietnam due to an explosion that was caused by him he got injured so he took a break thats why hes old.
Mcree: Was made because cowboy films his belt is a reference to a cowboy film thats all he is a reference.
That is it if you believe in god that is fine but please do not ruin games just because you THINK its evil. This game does not promote Anti christ so good day sir and leave video games alone.

See? I can make unfounded claims, too. When someone asks, "How do you know that shooting yourself won't hurt?", I just say, "I don't, but it's never hurt me*, and HOW DARE YOU DISAGREE WITH MY OPINION THAT THE CONSTITUTION SAYS I CAN HAVE**", adjust my trilby, and wander off to enjoy my success.
*the fact I've never done it goes conveniently unmentioned
**it really doesn't, but no one ever actually reads the thing, much like the Bible

Re: Overwatch: Overdue For A Ban!
Christian: Hello this is Joshua again. And while i agree with most of the points made to a very heavy degree. i can still believe in artistic vision, as i am an artist. Let me explain a phrase before i move on or i may lose some people in this. I'm going to explain the term "skin" in a gamer sense. SO lets say You have an apple. Boring, Plain, and generic. not to many deviations on what an apple looks like other than the green ones that i'm going to quietly sweep under the carpet for this analogy to work properly. Let's say you want to make the apple look a bit unique, you want it to look nice, you wish to personalize the apple so that it fits you a bit more or makes a funny statement. so you paint the apple Purple and make it look like a plumb. now it's a unique apple! That's basically what a skin is, is a change of a "characters model" to look different from the default. The Devil skin (while satanic in every regard) makes a funny statement as mercy is usually portrayed as a doer of good. at least that's what the community sees it as. So if you look at it from the community's perspective. if they see her as something good, then proceed to dress her up as something that is known as completely evil. than it makes for a funny little joke. Personally if i every do have to play a healer in that game i simply stick with Lucio. a more upbeat kinda guy, no pun intended. I will also comment on the B'Va thing. same thing, it's a Skin, and the B'Va is a simple pun. a joke, a play on words. That's all i have to say on the subject
Not So Christian: well... ignoring the blatant Sexist comments, racism, and obliviousness to terms. I'm going to attempt to explain what the child meant by "edge lord". in the gaming community (and in the community of the internet in general) the phrase "edgey" refers to someone who has a large amount of Angst in their attitudes. usually enjoy Gothic and darker tones of humor and genre, such as gore and horror. and tend to overly dramatic with their words. Reaper is a "edge lord" because that that was probably the whole pitch for his character right there.
Also ignoring the characters entirely. let's replace every single character with boxes each with a different color to differentiate them from one another. looking at the gameplay alone it has a fairly broad variety of characters, each with their own unique personality and background. for example one of the characters is a scientist who is also a massive gorilla who was born on the moon and experimented on and shoots lightning out of a cannon like a discount Zeus.
though the characters have a fairly restrictive style of play and once you get familiar with all of them and the samey maps and objectives the games fade fairly quickly and loses its shine. it'll entertain ya for about a year or so before losing it's luster
though the gameplay is fun while it lasts. that's for damn sure

Why do would you not allow those who oppose your beliefs (that is us) and those who are religious not live according to the code book (that is is the Bible) that leads us into Life Eternal?
1 Thessalonians 4:7
For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

Re: Overwatch: Overdue For A Ban!
Overwatch turns out to be the most terrible game. I banned it as soon as its agenda was revealed. It's banned in every Christian home. Other things are also banned: worshipping Zen, making idols, murder, theft, mingling fabrics such as wool & linen in the same outfit and of course yoking different species together.
But these things are not "banned" in the same way that opium is banned. God is very straightforward on this topic.
II CORINTHIANS 6 . KJV . look up
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
God does not want His property, which He has paid for, contaminating itself with the delights of modernity. Sex orgy with idols? Temple prostitution? Freaking out on toadstools or fruit-infused cactus punch? Hanging out with Jains or worshipping rat plagues? Christians are not attached to these things. They don't need to be banned because no Christian ever thinks of that stuff in the first place. But it is banned because sometimes an unsaved wretch will turn up who needs to be aware that God's criteria operate here. Who knows? It may be the first time they ever heard the Good News about Jesus! And you never know what could be in their pockets.
whole chapter
16 What agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
This is very simple. We are not asking players of this awful thing what they think about it. We already know that. This forum provides valuable information for Christian families about schemes to strip away Christian morality and replace it with something else.
Nothing.
And that's what we're dealing with here. Squirm and wriggle though they may Jesus remains firm. His standard is unique. Is such a standard achievable in the modern world? Many people say "No, and a good job too!" which about sums up the responses here. Sure, some games may be OK and we have The Pastors to advise us on that. This appalling "Overwatch" effort, however, is one game I will never even look at. In fact I'm starting to wish I'd never heard of it at all.

Other than your inability to craft a properly constructed sentence, what do you feel imbues you with the authority to declare someone brain dead? Do you have medical training of any sort?
This lower case "g" god that you mentioned, who is he and which church looks to him as their preferred deity? Does this god specifically command you to advise people to defenestrate themselves or are you encouraged to come up with your own boorish and absurd suggestions?
Finally, is there some critical tenent of your religion that forbids its adherents from employing the conventional norms of grammar? Are there penalties and sanctions involved if a church member uses too many commas or other punctuation marks?
I look forward to your responses to my inquiries and encourage you to take the opportunity to learn about accurate, Bible-based theology whilst visiting our site.
