The Reverend has posted false things about the game. Does this constitute as lying? I didnt even attack the article in general, as he is correct on a majority of points.
It just bugs me when people spread lies, especially about something (it would seem) the liars know nothing about.

The Rev. never posted a single false statement. Nor did he interpret parts of the Bible to make a point. He said it verbatim. He stated clear and simple fact.

Nearly all the gamers posting on this thread are OCD. They have some serious issues. The rantings and attitudes serve to further condemn them. Some claim to be young children (15?) others, I think in their 30's. Some are obviously intelligent and reasonably functional. Others are borderline mental defectives. Most of them show greatly stunted maturity.

I do not play these video games for these very reasons. I saw what it did to others. I know I'd get hooked and play it for days on end, ruining my life. I guess the denial they have is like junkies. Not until they hit rock bottom will they realize they have a serious problem and seek help. I pray they would look for God to help them but to be honest, any help from anyone would be a good start.

Please consider getting help, think about it. Then come back and let's talk
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

        How would answer these questions?

I posted before what he got wrong. And again, I keep getting berated. I have tried my best to be civil, and also tried my best from personally attacking anyone. Again, I just want the Reverend to fix the few problems with his original post. If you cant see he is wrong about the few things I have mentioned, then you ARE blind. I have played Fallout 3 for quite some time, and I do know what Im talking about when it comes to the game.

Thats a lot of questions to answer, gimme another post to answer them, if you would please.

I am somewhat of an atheist (I believe in god, but I dont believe the bible is all true). To be honest, I dont think there are bad games, or bad people, just mentally ill people...

Ok, answer are here Mr. Hutchins.

Are the majority of your friends those with whom you play games?
*Games yes, but not all Video Games. I am also an avid CCG and Board game players. Also enjoy outdoor paintball.
Do you try to find ways of playing your online game when you are not at home?
*Nope, dont even own a Handheld. I play at home, thats it.
Are you unable to predict time spent gaming?
*lol, yeah. But no more than reading a good book. Just lose track sometimes when you get involved ya know?
Do you deny addiction to a MMORPG, but somehow still feel the need to play?
*I have quit playing MMO's due to time constraints.
Do you feel preoccupied with gaming (do you think about previous gaming activity or anticipate your next session)?
*Yes, but not in the form your thinking. Gotta remember your mistakes from past play sessions sometimes.
Do you spend much of your free time surfing game-related websites?
*Nope, what time I do get on the PC is spent surfing all kinds of news.
Do you spend a significant amount of time outside the game in activities relating to the game?
*Little unclear on this one, please elaborate?
Do you often check your gaming boards before doing other things that you need to do?
*Gaming boards are often havens to falmers and whiners, so I avoid a large majority.
Do you find yourself flirting with those of the opposite sex in the game in an attempt to build a relationship?
*lol, no. Rather pathetic I personally feel.
Do you feel your heart racing as you control your character in a flee from danger?
*Depends on the game, but I have felt that on occasion.
Do you feel a sudden rush of intense joy/sense of euphoria and relaxation after an in-game accomplishment?
*Joy, especially when beating another player. If there is no joy in it, why do it?
Do you experience stronger emotions while in your online game than you do in real life?
*No man, game is a game.
Do you ever refer to yourself by the name of your In-Game character, or cling to your character's name for your emails, instant messenger, etc?
              *Yes. Only for E-mails however.
Do you occupy uninterested friends/family/partner with conversation about the game?
*On occasion. However, this has gotten people interested into some games on occasion.

              *another nope.
Have you withdrawn from real life hobbies?
*No sir. I actually have to many hobbies!
Do you eat at the computer while gaming or do you skip meals to game?
*No, because one can pause or save and turn it off.
Have your sleep patterns changed or do you lose sleep due to late-night raids/gaming?
*On occasion, however this is mainly to play with RL friends, as many work late.
Have you experienced physical effects from excessive gaming (e.g. carpal tunnel, eye strain, weight change, back ache, sore neck, arms, wrist)?
*Tunnel Vision on occasion, depending game (Racers mostly). Nerd Note:HD gaming can be contributed to at least a 10% increase in Eyesight!
Do you spend real money on the purchase of in-game items?
*Nope, always hated that style of pay-to play.
Do you often become defensive or secretive when you are asked what you do when you are gaming?
*lol, no. Im quite open about my nerdiness.
Do you deny, rationalize and minimize the negative consequences of gaming?
*These are all a matter of perception. for as many reports that say one thing, there are those that say another. I just enjoy playing.
Do you feel the need to "stand up for gamers" and proclaim that your life is perfect by listing all of your life's achievements, and yet still game for 4-6 hours per day?
*I feel a need to stand up to the mass of misinformation and lack of knowledge when it comes to Video Games. I feel gamers can take care of themselves.
Do you neglect household chores to spend time gaming?
              *On occasion
Have you given up or reduced time spent at important social, occupational, or recreational activities in your real life to play the game?
              *Never because of gaming.

              *Nah, I implore conversation.

Do you tell yourself you can stop playing the game any time you want to, even though you keep playing when you don't mean to?
*The classic 'Just one more game' scenario? Happens on occasion.

              *Nope
Do you have difficulty staying away from gaming for several days at a time?
*Nope, I'll find something to do anywhere I am.

              *No
Have you ever switched from one game to another in the hope it will keep you from playing so much?
*?? That dont make much sense, as I would still be playing a game.

*Again, No. Im quite open about my hobbies.
Do you use gaming as a way of escaping from problems or of relieving a dysphoric mood (e.g. Feelings of helplessness, guilt, anxiety, depression)?
*No, I use them to curb boredom and because I enjoy them as an Artform.
Do you envy people who can play the game without getting into 'trouble'?
              *No, because Im one.
Do you feel guilt, shame, anxiety or depression around the time you spend gaming?

You know what they all have in common? They are all decent white Christian folks. None of them are looking for trouble, they are all trustworthy individuals.

There's nothing dangerous about a gun store. Guns don't inspire people to go on murderous rampages. Video games do. If you want to feel scared, take a stroll through your local computer store, and look at all the diabolical, satanic games that are being marketed towards our children!

Which makes YOU feel more frightened? The fact that there are millions of trustworthy white gun owners who enjoy hunting and occasionally showing off with guns (which is wrong because it is prideful), or the fact that any kid can walk into Wal-Mart and buy any murder simulator he wants, that will teach him how to kill indiscriminately, use drugs, hire prostitutes and disrespect authority?

What kind of twisted mind enjoys sitting in front of a screen shooting at cartoon characters when he could be out in nature gunning down rabbits, dear, raccoons, and other types of pests?
Is it illegal to sell guns to non-christians?

A bold assumption made there, Reverend. I could just as easily say that all Christians spend all of their time reading the Bible, couldn't I? I guess you could say my predicament is ironic, but I must confess that I enjoy seeing what the good people of Landover Baptist Church have to say.

The problem, until a gamer kills in real life, we are considered 'over reacting'. Not a week goes by when there is not news of another gamer related death.
See, gamers as a whole are not very bright. They think they are, but all they ever have to compare to is other gamers. Basically, one cesspool is as clean as another. So when a gamer 'snaps' and goes on a murderous rampage, catching them is no harder than going to the kids parents basement, where the child is typically found, balled up in a corner with his 'blankie'. It is an open and shut case. Because of this and the fact it has become so common place, no one gives it much notice any more. Everyone is too busy texting, drinking their latte and driving the Prius to notice.
