In order to make Decent tools, one must obtain iron. to obtain a sustainable amount of iron you would have to smelt and cleanse the desired iron to a grade fit for use, or just go to some local dump and buy a portion of iron there. Last, you would have to form your tool. NO ONE would do this without a hobby tied to the making of the tool, so your conclusion to it wrecking the economy is absurd. People will buy tools, its easier than spending 5 hours in making one by hand.
