You have never seen an expiration date in the bible? His name was Jesus and his his life, death, and resurrection was the expiration of such barbaric treatment toward our fellow brothers and sisters in life. Jesus is Love and if you can't see past that then I pray one day you will.
Hmm, then why would say this:

Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

If Jesus wanted the Old Testament laws to expire, He would have chosen different words, don't you think, sweetie?

    tl;dr

Please make a thread of your own in the "Introductions" section of the forum, so that we can properly greet you. Tell us about yourself, your church, and how you came to find Jesus.

And if you're here to flame us, better take a look at THIS before making an even bigger ass out of yourself.

I will pray that the Holy Spirit enter you and chase the demons out of your rectum and let Jesus fill you with His Grace. If you use your God-given free will to reject Christ and His temporary death on the cross for my sins, then you are sending yourself to hellfire.

Re: Minecraft: Makes children sex slaves and destroys our economy!

This is going to be a rather long story, so buckle up.

A good few years ago when I left college all my friends moved away to follow their dream jobs or to go to university, leaving me feeling rather lonely and in want for something to do with my time I searched for a job. Minecraft seemed like a nice little game, it was cute retro and at the time it was free to play as it was in early alpha stage of development. To start off with It was really fun, there wasn’t much to do but I could build a little house, have a little farm and at night fight the undead, it was great! There were new updates coming out for it every other week or so which meant there was always something to do.

The minecraft forums were always nice to look at too, seeing all the cool things people had made and the talks about what could be there in the future and it was nice to see people talking and creating ideas together. There was one person though who was on there who didn’t have the game but really wanted it, I had seen him talking on topics that he really liked to the look of it and was asking where he could get it for free as he couldn’t afford to buy it (by this point the game had moved into beta and people had to buy it). I had seen him around on a bunch of other forums too and he seemed really nice so I bought him the game and sent him the gift code. Needless to say he was thrilled to have an official copy of the game and I invited him to join my server to play.

a bunch of my friends who were in uni would play too, as would other people from all over the world which was really great fun. We had build a little village together but eventually things started getting busy and we stopped playing for a long time.

I had a few jobs in between times but things were pretty rough for a while, I had to quit a job because I couldn’t afford to work just 16 hours a week after my hours got cut so I was stuck at home again with nothing to do. It sucked. I had the guy I bought minecraft for on my skype list, he had been there for a long time but we hadn’t spoken to each other for a while and I thought it was time to see how he was doing… Turned out it wasn’t so well, he and his parents were in a really tight spot, he was in the USA and two of them had a lot of medical bills they were struggling to pay which I thought was really sad, there wasn’t much i could do to help him. I suggested we play a little minecraft together again like we used to and he agreed, we got a few of the old friends back and some new ones too and started over building an amazing looking town! There have been so many upgrades since the last time we played it was like playing a new game!

here are some things we made:

Below is part of the village, a little incomplete as the paths need changing to gravel, there is a police station there with blue thing on the front and some houses.

We started talking a lot, over skype/ minecraft/ microphone and he was really nice and kind, he was always a pleasure to talk to, I did find out though that he was very depressed with his home life and often spoke of how he wished it didn’t have to be so… I wanted to help but aside from just being there to talk with him I didn’t know how to help.

Then one day he mentioned that he hadn’t been able to go to church. Being atheist it never really occurred to me that he was a Christian, not that i minded at all and I started to feel bad that I had just assumed he was atheist too. He said he hated not being able to go to church and i felt bad…

Huzzah! After a long time of being out of work I finally found a job at a cake shop, it was min wage but it was 39 hours a week so i could afford to do things again, like get my own place! It was great! I always though of my friend though, I am going to call him Ben. (that isn’t his name but for keeping him Anon )

I live in a semi rural part of the UK, it’s pretty nice and rather quiet and on my walk home there is a church. I pass it every day and I always marvel at the beauty of it, architecture has always been an interest of mine but I never thought much of it than that but then I had a little thought of how i could help Ben. I decided to go into the church and armed with my phone I started to take a few pictures. Eventually one of the men that worked there asked me what I was doing, and I explained to him why I was taking pictures and he kindly helped answer a few questions for me, like how they were built in the shape of a cross, the colours and what they meant and other things. They also had a little charity area, people could bring in thing they didn’t need or want anymore and others who needed them could take them, it was a nice system and there was a ton of books there too, I took a picture and went home.

It was then I started building the church. Our minecraft village didn’t have one but it had all these other smaller things. Of course we needed a church! Every town has one and they are important. I tried my best to replicate it but of course with the blocks being so large and wanting to keep it the right size i had to skip a lot of the detail but it came out ok. I used a nice light wood for the inside to make it seem lighter and a dark slate for the roof like the one i was in had. I even put in a little charity area here.

This is it from the outside. You will have to excuse the path as it's not finished yet.

I was a little worried that when Ben came online he wouldn’t like it, I didn’t want to offend him i just wanted to make him feel better but when he did come online and saw the church he was really pleased with it.

I started seeing him just sometimes standing in there. He thanked me loads of times for it and it felt good to have helped. There wasn’t really much.

Ben seemed to get much happier after that, of course it wasn’t all down to a minecraft church but I think it helped a little, someone had helped them pay their hospital bills which meant they were better off, I was glad for him to have things worked out.

We met up not long ago, he is much taller than I thought he would be, he kept complaining he was really short but he was still taller than me. He stayed in the UK for a week and I showed him the church I based the minecraft one off, I also showed him some of the other buildings I got inspiration from around my home town, including the stables.

Here is my stable, this is Brandybuck.

He went back to the US at the end of the week. It was nice seeing him.

A short while later I got made to be manager of my work so I was earning better money and he was able to get a better job too so we are doing well. He is planning to come back over next year and I am planning to go to the US sometime so i can try some ice cream cake.

What I learned is that good can come from anywhere, even something as simple as minecraft. Of course it can be abused, everything can. A simple pen can be used to draw or write bad things, peoples words can hurt but they can also do good. Minecraft helped me make a friend, it helped me cheer someone up and make them feel better and really… It doesn’t matter what you do in life as long as you are a good person and don’t hurt anyone. Just be excellent to each other.

Minecraft hasn’t hurt anyone, pedo’s don’t lurk on every server to prey on children. And if you are so worried about the children then don’t let them play it. There are private servers too. Like mine was where only my friends could join in. Dangerous people are everywhere, and so are kind people who just want to enjoy things. It’s just a silly game where you build things with blocks, like lego on the computer and it’s not all online. There is an offline single player too.

    Be good to each other.

I see that you don't understand the concept of a forum. A "forum" refers to a series of comments for from users of the same site. So it's different from a dialog between just two people. For that there is e-mail etc.

If you still don't understand this I would advice you to try a search engine. They are all the rage with the kids nowadays.

    Young man.

Even though you are a Hippie, I'd like to ask you, please, behave.
The most honourable Cranky old man just politely asked you to stay in the main topic - discussion of this swedish game, Minecraft.

And how did you answer him?

You are a guest here. If you really want to be sometimes a member of this forum, change your behavior. Cranky old man is much older and wiser than You or me. Don't lose your temper, there is no reason to get angry and rude.

See - now you made me lose my temper. I apologize everybody this.

The truth is that Cranky old man does not need any of these humble writings of mine - he has much stronger advocate, The LORD JESUS CHRIST!!!

    BLESS THE LORD, GOD ALMIGHTY!!!

It is well-known that the ideas of world government are signs of the End of Times. Luke 18:8 tells how the loss of Faith spreads and commies are a sure sign of that.

The Antichrist will come and he'll be attractive and offer his followers the easy lures of peace, initial safety, wealth and "brotherhood", good food for all and apparent equality. It is all a disguise (2 Thessalonians 2:4-12). Those who follow these ideas will be badly surprised when the LORD comes and throws the infidels into HELL. (e.g., Revelation 20:12).

These times are near. Do not let yourselves be lured by the false peace of false Christians or the Antichrist. I'm looking forward to Jesus' coming but woe unto those who fail to understand the false messages in time.

    Yours,

    Elmer

No True Christian™ would do such a thing, dear. It goes against the LORD's specific command:

    And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;
And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.
    Leviticus 10:10-11

Since I don't have an example, I would test it first in a small, contained area, preferably with prisoners, before revealing its beauty to the whole world.

And if you require me to read the Bible to discuss it with you, I require you to read the Communist Manifesto if you wish to discuss Communism with me.

I do not read pornographic smut. You however have yet to provide ANY example of this 'ideal society' of yours ever being practiced, but seem adamant in denying that nations which profess to be Communist are indeed not Communist. So please do provide me with an example of this pipe dream of yours ever functioning in the world.
