My husband, who is some years older than I am, vaguely recalls hearing a similar song by a group of schoolchildren. As he points out, mawkish sentimentality seems to be a catholic thing.

Thank you for bringing this into our attention. We were aware that this musical ensemble was evil, but I was unaware that it was this depraved! Of course, as this group of mediocre musicians works for the Dark Side, it is no surprise that they're Catholics, the worst Cult ever!. my chemical romance have prevented hundreds of people from hurting or killing themselves, including me. the lead singer is catholic. they may singing about some things that may be dark, but to really reach you, that is necessary. you should see the music video for helena. it's set entirely in a church.

It is clearly spelled out by Miss Lizalor, Mr./Ms. Chicken. According to their own ontology, they are here to save you. This lovely community truly believes in God as described in the Holy Bible - which after all, is our only source of knowledge about Him. While the Holy Bible portrays God as a rather cruel individual, the Landover Baptists accept Him exactly as described in the Holy Bible and don't try to hide His character.

That makes them the most honest group of Christians that I've ever encountered in my anthropological studies. Every other group that I've known lies about the contents of the Bible, making it look like God loves everyone - while the Bible clearly says that He doesn't, and two millenia of horrors committed in His name and therefore with His permission also show His true feelings towards humanity.

While I personally don't agree with this lovely community's beliefs, I admire them for their honesty.

Oh, I would love to have the faith that they have...! Instead, I just feel guilty about my own lack of belief. I'm afraid of Hell, but I just cannot force myself to believe in a benevolent God - for the reasons described above - and I cannot force myself to worship a cruel God...!

Well dear, it seems that your confidence doesn't quite match reality, and what you believe you know to be true is naught more than a figment of your imagination. Laying the foundation of belief on one's imagination, and mistaking it for actual knowledge, is an illogical and irrational pursuit regardless of how sincerely it is held by the individual. We're not foolish or desperate enough to believe someone's faith-based claim simply because they believe it to be true, based no doubt on the assurances of someone else who assured them it was true. And so on, and so on. I'd like to encourage you to read the Holy Bible so you can understand the faith of Christ, straight from the source.
