    Hi Vantheman,

I hope you appreciate people are not welcome to your ¨warnings¨. I also hope you understand this is not the platform you can use to do so. Please behave.

Within any written work, whatever its intent, passages having an innocuous interpretation may be found. In the Chemicals writing there are innocuous passages too, when taken out of context. But writing fancies is different from writing untruths and for the Christian reader it's untruths which decide the matter. . That the world is ugly
. But you're beautiful to me

EMO culture is 100% diametrically opposed to Christian values at all times. Could an EMO inject some saccharine into the verbal phlegm they spew? Yes, one could. Would it be intentional? I have no idea. Would it be given a context? Yes, absolutely. Satan is the context. Understanding him and his agenda to alienate all life from Redemption for all time, how he uses the EMO to further this objective or the Goth or the hippie or the mass murderer it's all the same to him they all get the job done in their own small corner in their own way extinguishing The Light which is Jesus.

In my example "the world is ugly" bit introduces a soporific theme about "beautiful to me" which probably works in dreadlocked communities or goth dungeons. But the EMO won't be caged for long. Out it comes in the immediate following line EMO narcissism at its finest:

. Well are you thinking of me now? (now)

Just how blatant can they get? This is how their fans do see the world, "Are you thinking about me yet? What about if I do this?"
    .
    "What about this?"
. [commits some outrage with razorblades, a ferret and The Bible]
"Me. Me! Is it all about me yet?"

    But everyone's gone home.

. These are the nights and the lights that we fade in
. These are the words, but the words aren't coming out
. They burn 'cause they are hard to say
. For every failing sun, there's a morning after
. Though I'm empty when you go
. I just wanted you to know

My world is beautiful because I understand the reality of Jesus and appreciate now how empty I was before. How then can I understand a song about emptiness in the here and now? Why would any Christian go looking for the ugly?

Which is why I didn't get through all your post. How could anyone calling themselves a Christian listen to this stuff, let alone enjoy it. Perhaps in your intro you could illustrate how?
It's simple, really... I enjoy it because it gives hope to people that are looking for hope in musical form. YES, THIS CAN BE FOUND IN RELIGIOUS MUSIC, I KNOW, but you must accept the fact that kids are getting more and more interested in other things. Polls show that most youth are atheist nowadays. They want to be different.

But they enjoy it because they can really relate to the men in the band that have gone the depression themselves and know what they are going through!

Now to my question. What is your major malfunction? Do you not realize that Jesus is sitting on your bed with you, a hand on your shoulder as you destroy His creation? Instead of spending your money on razor blades, have you thought that if you gave your money to your Pastor, God would be able to,love you more? I suggest contacting the LBC Church office and set up a plan for True Redemption(tm).
    Thanks for a reply!

Well, You have probably seen this on this tread, but I'll say it again:
Cutting IS NOT some thing to criticize some one for. I used to have a bad addiction to cutting myself, and the band gave me hope, and told me to keep moving through the storm, because storms can only get so big. My "malfunction" (You where not clear about the question, Ill answer the best I can.) is that unlike popular assumptions, they don't condone self harm or anything bad. They are supportive people. Do like 5 minutes on the internet, and look up "MCR Quotes." Here is something the singer said at concerts to people who felt down - https://i.pinimg.com/736x/f7/76/7b/f...s-romances.jpg

P.S.- Be careful about who you insult about cutting. You might get punched, I've seen it.

I enjoy the band's music, and after listening to their music, reading lyrics, and listening to interviews, I noticed that the band is really NOT supporting Satan, or suicide, like some folks think. In the album, "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge," a group of troubled boys are treated unfairly, and don't at first think that the lord can save them. at points, most of us don't turn to god at first, and for seeming no reason (I'll explain later). ANYWAY, they get revenge on their classmates, in the song " I'm Not Okay, I Promise." And then on one of the boy's former lovers, who treated him badly, in the song "it's not a fashion statement, it's a death-wish." In their next album, it deals with taking a less violent turn, and some say turning to the lord, saying that there is an afterlife (heaven), and a Hell. In the song, "MaMa," it tells of a man in war he was forced into (this information comes from the podcast "My chemical romance welcomes you to the black parade") and that he thinks he will go to Hell, saying that Satan exists, therefor god does as well. INTERMISSION - I would like to mention 1-Peter 4:8. Read it if you like. The song "welcome to the black parade," Doesn't go against the lord. It is about a man's life "flashing before his eyes," BEFORE he dies, and seeing a memory of going to see a marching band with his father. If you have any questions, ask me!
