Stereotyping...Sad

So here's a story: I went on a missions trip with my church this summer with TEAMeffort. It was wonderful, amazing, and we really helped out the old lady we were with. At the end, I cried because I loved being in the company of such faithful and amazing people. The trip made me question something- is the music I listen to wrong?
My mother told me this, "As long as they don't say anything against God, and it doesn't make you feel like your slipping away from Him, it should be fine."
My Chemical Romance was one of those bands. I really thought hard, and there's only one song that I can think of that'd be bad, cause it says G**d***. (I hate that word.)
But one thing I will say is this: you people aren't acting very Christian. Calling us fans 'emo fags' is not really something you should say on here. I can't stand when people call me emo. When they do, I gladly say, "I go to church every Sunday and my wrists are clear." I love God with all my heart and know that he comes first. But is it so wrong to LOVE this band? They are people, too, and deserve love as much as anyone else. Isn't that the reason we're here? To love EVERYONE, not just 'normal' people? My church is accepting of the music I listen to (I'm Presbyterian), and they know that my allegiance lies with God.
And another thing: when you say MCR doesn't save lives, it's not necessarily true. I think that God USES them to help lost, broken people, to give people another chance to see the light. And don't say that my 'eternal damnation' is 'assured', because it's not true. I love God, believe that Jesus died for me, and think that I will go to heaven.
And to the person who chucked the CD out of the church: you owe that chick about fourteen dollars

I believe in God and have full faith in him, but I also listen to My Chemical Romance who I love!!! They are fully anti-satanic and although they arent religious themselves, they respect peoples religion. To people who arent fans, their lyrics will probably sound disrespectful and everything but they will never mean to hurt anyone.
Also, if you think this band have bad lyrics and are satanic and everything, there are bands that I love which you would think are far worse so please have some respect for this band because they never meant to hurt anyone

I would like someone to explain to me how this "emo-bashing" is very Christian at all. Didn't Jesus preach love and acceptance? For all kinds of people? Anyone who accepts Jesus into his or her heart is accepted in return, yes? If you personally have an issue with the music or the band, don't listen to them. It's as simple as that. I can assure you that the members are in no way Satanic, nor are they "cult leaders" who want your children to commit suicide. What purpose would that serve? I encourage you, please, take a look at their official website. While you may not enjoy everything on there, you will see stories of how many lives were saved because of this band. You will see the bands message about accepting each other and about accepting yourself. Yes, the band is an alternative rock band. I would appreciate it if someone could please clarify as to what makes you think you can act like God and judge others? It is the Lord’s duty to judge others and declare whether they are damned, not yours. As for this whole “emo band” My Chemical Romance, I would love to see a thorough explanation as how this band is “emo,” as well as how this band has “destroyed” your life personally and how it is they condemn religion.
As for the music video, if you had done your research prior to this ridiculous thread, you would have discovered that the entire record is a fictional concept about a cancer patient who loses his battle and like previously mentioned, death comes to him in the most comforting form for him. This happens to be a parade as it was the patient’s most vivid memory of when he was a child. Other songs on the record actually support the belief that if you are a bad person you will be exiled to hell, as later during the record it is mentioned that the patient had done some terrible things in his life and as a consequence he is sent to hell. Having listened to the record numerous times, I can assure you that any suggestions relating to the idea that “religion is bad or wrong” is not present within the album. The record is entirely fictional and is there for entertainment purposes, like a movie or novel.
Hopefully, this has helped clear up any confusion.
