I had been struggling all my life from the age of 6 (when my parents converted to Evangelical Christianity) until I was in my early 20’s with some of thigns about the Bible that just didnt’ make sense to me. I was always told not to dwell on questions such as,

“Why did God create hell?”
“Why did God create humanity knowing full well that the vast majority of them would burn in hell for all eternity?”
“Why did God introduce a crafty serpent to the garden of Eden to tempt Adam and Eve?”
“How can proof of God’s take away your choice to love him, when proof of my mother’s existence does not take away my choice to love her?”

When I got to my 20’s the questions changed to,

“Why does God condone and regulate slavery in the Bible?”
“Why does God tell the Israelites to kill every man, woman, child in so many different cities?”
“Why did God have to see his son crucified a rather terrible death in order to be appeased so he can save humanity?”

There’s plenty more where those came from. At some point I started looking into the scientific explanation for things like the origins of humans, the origins of the universe, the origins of this planet. I understood the explanations and they made so much more sense.

By this time, my wife and I had been suckered into leading a youth group at a church we were attending. Well, I quit as leader, cause I felt it was dishonest of me.

Eventually I told my wife that I was an atheist, reluctantly. I was afraid this would be the end of our relationship and shortly after my daughter was born. Fortunately, today my wife is an atheist and we are raising our children in a beautiful godless home. I came out with it officially in 2006 and have been free from the bondage of mental slavery ever since. “None but ourselves can free out minds.”

You make Jesus sick. How you can reject Christ's temporary suffering and death like that? And to send your wife and child to an eternity in hell as well?

Christians are kindda like nerds playing video games and watching starcraft or starwars. Their parents brain wash them from an early age and this kindda non-sense gets hard coded in their brains. While they are learning that fire is dangerous and they need to drink water to survive they learn about Christianity and its myths.
