The Bible has predicted so many things that came to pass. Did you know that there are over 270 prophecies in the Old Testament that came true in the life death and ressurection of Jesus? Do you know what the odds of that are? Imagine lining all of Texas with quarters 2 feet deep, painting one of them red, then dropping a blind man at any random spot. What are the odds of the first coin picked up by that man being that painted coin? Its like zillions to one. Thats how perfect the Bible is, thats how many prophecies were fullfilled in Jesus. Why is it that y'all assume that everyone who defends gay rights is automatically gay? I am, in fact, straight. I just believe wholeheartedly in the equality of all people.

And I said that the Bible was written by man with inspiration from the Holy Spirit. So yes, God did heavily influence the writing of the Bible, which is why it is correct about so many prophecies. HOWEVER, because man is not perfect, the Bible is not inerrant. It is holy, because it's words are inspired by God. But it is NOT God's word-for-word teachings. Besides, man is only capable of writing about that which he can understand. That is why so many modern concepts are not found in the Bible. They were unimaginable back then. Genetics are a fairly new discovery, something which no man could have predicted back then. Though God knew about it, He only inspired the writing, rather than actually writing the Bible.

The King James Bible is absolutely unerrant. It was written by men, obviously, but they were inspired by God (see 2 Peter 1:21). How could there be any errors if it was inspired by a perfect God?

Psalm 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Psalm 12:7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

We can see in the above Psalm that the Lord's words are pure (the Bible) and they have been perfectly preserved. So what you're reading now in 2009 in the King James Bible is the exact Word of God.

It doesn't, because it wasn't written by inerrant men. Men cannot be inerrant. All humans are fallible. Which means that they can easily make a mistake when writing the Bible.

Also, consider something for a moment. I'll pretend that one day a long time ago, the Bible actually did just fall out of the sky with the inerrant Word of God in its pages. It would have been in the language of the nation who received it. Based on historical facts, this most likely would have been the Hebrews. Now, can any of YOU read Hebrew? I doubt it. It would have gone through translations to be able to be understood by the world. After Hebrew, there would have been Latin and Greek, and only from there could it be translated into English. FURTHERMORE, men would have to copy the Bible word-for-word in order to make new copies.

Now tell me. What are the chances that, even IF the first ever Bible was inerrant, that it underwent PERFECT translations and PERFECT copying over a period of thousands of years? Next to none.

The Psalms were written by King David, yes, but were inspired by God.
