It's a wonderful thing when men and women of God speak up for God and Godly principles, and it's a sad thing when they at first stand behind them and then let back when the secular pressure is on.
Pastor Sean Harris of North Carolina is one such man, a man who brought God the glory stating: “So your little son starts to act a little girlish when he is four years old and instead of squashing that like a cockroach and saying, ‘Man up, son, get that dress off you and get outside and dig a ditch, because that is what boys do,’ you get out the camera and you start taking pictures of Johnny acting like a female and then you upload it to YouTube and everybody laughs about it and the next thing you know, this dude, this kid is acting out childhood fantasies that should have been squashed….Can I make it any clearer? Dads, the second you see your son dropping the limp wrist, you walk over there and crack that wrist. Man up. Give him a good punch. Ok? You are not going to act like that. You were made by God to be a male and you are going to be a male.” (Listen to the video after the article)
If this were all the Pastor said, I'd be right there with him, defending him against the liberal media or else sending him support checks. But then, when the heat was on, he back-peddled and began acting like everyone knew he wasn't serious when he advocated what the suck-ular world would deem child abuse...
The Berean Baptist Church website of Fayetteville, NC gives Harris' apology, saying he is sorry for offending anyone with his remarks about child discipline...
"I have learned from this and will seek to be more articulate and deliberate with my words in the future," Harris wrote.
What a disappointment. God's Word needs no apology, not ever!
