  • Who I am

God afternoon to the people on this forum.

I am Rich, and I was saved after my girlfriend at the time broke her back trampolining. She was in hospital for 5 months, and for the first 2 months it looked like she would never walk again. I spent the entire time crying and blaming god for punishing her unfairly. She turned to me and asked me to explain my anger. She asked me to pray with her and instead of praying for herself to heal she thanked god for his love and kindness and for showing her another way to live. This humility in the face of god broke my sence of self entitlement and self importance. It broke down all the false beleifs i thought came from god. She showed me the way from the dark false belief that I had held for so long and taught me about the kind and compassionate god that she knew and loved. Three months later she was walking and healed and I will never be able to repay the debt that I owe God for his bountiful and beautiful mercy.

My home church is the Flackwell Health Methodist Church in the United Kingdom, where I recently married my wife (the girlfrend from above). My favorite bible verse will always be "first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye". as it is something that I frequently need reminding of!

I honestly believe that all should be able to make their voice heard, and that they should be able to say what they wish how they wish, and that freedom of speech is the greatest gift that god has given us.

However, speech should be open to debate and I hope to be able to talk frankly and openly without "flaming" or "trolling" with the people here and to understand their views better.

    Re: Who I am

I am not sure what you want to "debate" about as this is not a forum for debate. We preach God's word here without interpretation.

2 Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

While it is encouraging that you are quoting from the KJV, why would you attend a methodist church instead of a True Christian™ independent fundamentalist Baptist church?

      Dear Hellbound Heathen,

Why would you blame Sweet Jesus for your girlfriends's accident? He wasn't the one who made her break her back. Did you ever stop to think that God is using this to give you both a wake up call? Your blame is very much misplaced!

Greetings friend and welcome to our friendly forums.

You'll find this a great place to fellowship with other devoted Christians

I am a little concerned when you use the word 'debate': which part is debatable?

Would one debate the truth of Jesus returning from the dead or the 42 bears?

        What was your meaning?

        All the best.

Do not be so quick to not credit loving Jesus with her painful and not doubt traumatic experience.

Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Anytime something bad happens like a child born with the AIDS, an earthquake or high school shooting you can rest assure that Baby Jesus was the guiding, loving hand, steering the course of every minute detail for His own Holy reasons.

          Glory!

as you can see if you read my story further, I realised this further on. I was very wrong to do this and regret my actions as god clearly gave me this challenge to enlighten me.

Okay, I'm glad you are taking the right road to Salvation, however, if you would, please capitalize God's name.

                  Re: Who I am

                  Welcome!

Your story is very inspiring. When my Grandmother got cancer (yes, midgets can have grandparents) I remember thinking "Oh, thank you merciful Jesus!" You see, Jesus gave her cancer of the stomach, which is quite painful. But he did not, for example, have her shot down by Russians in a plane or have her fall into a pressure cooker like a common Mexican. Pressure at Work Too Great for Mexican Man

This is why, when something bad happens, like when a bridge falls on someone or somebody loses their job, I think about how sweet Jesus to make that happen.

In honor the Mexican that Jesus blessed with falling into a tuna cooker, I have created this recipe for you to savor:

                  PRESSED MEXICAN TUNA SANDWICH

Take 1 (7-ounce) can Italian tuna in oil, undrained (or chunk light tuna in water, drained and mixed with 1 tablespoon olive oil), 1 (6-ounce) jar marinated artichoke hearts, undrained, Zest and juice of 1 lemon, Kosher salt and freshly and some spicy pepper flakes. Then get 1/2 of a thin 18-inch baguette, sliced lengthwise, interior crumb removed
6 to 8 whole basil leaves

                  1. In a medium bowl, combine the tuna, artichoke hearts, lemon juice and zest and some pepper flakes to taste. I like it hot.
                  2. Fill the baguette with the mixture, scatter the basil leaves on top.
                  3. Close the baguette and wrap it tightly in waxed paper, then in aluminum foil.
                  4. Place the sandwich under a brick so the weight of the brick compresses the sandwich and allows the juices to soak into the bread.

If, when you put the brick on the bread, you hear a tiny voice saying "¡ ayúdame, ayúdame !" then this is probably little tiny mexican that got stuck in there!! (Just kidding!!)

                  ¡Deelicious!! Hope you enjoy!
Paying for the sins of my hateful parents since pre-birth. Jeremiah 32:18. Now cooking for Jesus as inspired by Deuteronomy 8:3.

                    Re: Who I am

Welcome friend. I am happy to hear you are turning your back to the false Christians and shallow life that the methodists are. A mans life needs substance and not fluff.

Your ex-girlfriend is lucky her uterus did not come flying out of her body or catch a sex disease on that contraption. Man was not meant to go soaring about in the air.

Tell me, how do you plan to thank God for letting you live?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

                      Exactly.

It may have been inconvenient for her but the message was lesson was for you.

And anyway, as long as she can provide you with kids she will be fine (and she does not really need her legs to work much, once the first half dozen girl childs are able to do for you).

1 Timothy 2:15 Yet she will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control.

That is moving testimony, friend. Presumably it is this terrible experience that has brought you to Jesus. You are right to come here to seek congress with other Christians. We know the opportunities for fellowship in godless England are limited. It may come as a surprise to you, but we have become aware of several other Christians in England in recent years.

                        Welcome, then and God Bless!
