Captain, ad hominem abusive is neither a valid argument nor a good way to persuade us to take you seriously. This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. Re: Hello
Oh Captain, my silly Captain. Our one and only intention is to share the Magnificence and Glory of the Living God to the Outside World through the One and Only Tangible Source He left us - His Holy Word (King James Bible).Originally posted by CaptainAmerica View PostEveryone of you are heretics and blasphemers. Mary, or whoever you are, I see you in the Lake of Fire.
You are not the first to be very surprised when they see our message. God blessed us with the understanding of his Word (John 14:26). If you are upset, you are upset with the LORD, what He says, and what He desires. But you look on as a child who is denied something that is not in his best interest, or a child who is being lovingly reprimanded. God is displeased with people like you. The Prophet reveals, And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction. (Zechariah 1:15 ) Don’t you see how your continued rebellion hurts the LORD?
The people of this world have changed the truth of God into lies, and that is why you are so confused as to what the Bible really says. The apostle Paul wrote, [People like you] changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. (Romans 1:22-25) The "creature" referred to here is Satan. People like you are easily duped by Satan's lies because he tells you just what you want to hear, and so like greedy little toddlers you rush in and gobble up whatever you can find that satiates your immediate desires.
And by the way, nobody has your password. The forum software doesn't allow for people to get that information, and we are honest to a fault. We'll tell you the Truth(tm), even if you don't want to hear it.Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

This was done by the Arabs, and other worshippers of the god Orotal. Hence the Arabs are ironically called “those with the corner of their hair polled".(Jeremiah 9:26;Jeremiah 25:23; Jeremiah 49:32).And they entered into a covenant to seek the Lord God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul; That whosoever would not seek the Lord God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.2 Chronicles 15:12-13

Re: Hello
So why doesn't it say that? All those words were available (with their present meanings) to the Committees in 1611, but they didn't use them (for some reason). What's all this guff about the "corners of your head"?Originally posted by HeyLeroy View PostThat is, they are not to shave off the hair around the temples and behind the ears...
The Bible is exactly right (or so Christians claim), word-for-word, when it comes to Creation, which we have to accept as literal truth (despite every last scrap of evidence pointing in the opposite direction) or burn in Hell forever (after this life has already been made miserable by people hounding us to live up to impossible standards that they themselves have no hope of ever meeting), but when it comes to something that's patently ridiculous (like your head having corners), it's all, "but what it really means is..." in flagrant violation of that self-same Bible, viz. Deuteronomy 4:2, Matthew 5:18, and Revelation 22:19. You'd think that an all-powerful, all-knowing, omnipresent being would be able to say what He means and mean what He says, with no magic decoder ring necessary.
Oh, and CITE YOUR SOURCES. Plagiarism is theft, and makes Baby Jesus get all colicky and soil His Diaper or something.

Not quite, friend Didymus. Look into the etymology of the word. The modern meaning 'grew out' (see what I did there?Originally posted by Didymus Much View PostSo why doesn't it say that? Re: Hello
Exactly my point. If God meant we are "not to shave off the hair around the temples and behind the ears", why doesn't He say that? Why use a word that requires the reader to know, and to know to use, the already (in 1611) archaic definition in place of that commonly accepted?Originally posted by Leroy Llewelyn View Post...Look into the etymology of the word. Show me your head, and then show me the obvious corners on that head, or admit that the Bible cannot be taken literally.

I had no problem at all understanding this verse when I read it for the first time, and I was TEN!!
I can't understand why you are having an issue with this particular, crystal clear passage when its truth is self-evident.
Friend, I urge you to turn from whatever filthy sin is in your heart and redouble your studies of the Word.
As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.

Yours in Christ,
I do not mean to interrupt the conversation, but you all have no idea how to read the KJV. You don't even know what all the words mean. It is obvious you have no idea what context means. In addition to that, the Inspired Word of God was given to the Holy Ghost lead authors of the 66 books. That was finished by 100 AD. So what makes the KJV so special. The original Inspired Word was written on what we would call a copy. By the time that King James was in office, the Bible was changed to be what was called the KJV.John 1:1 In the Beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
