So to clarify, I am a male, who works in healthcare and is gaining work experience for a position in Human Resources at my local hospital. All hospital staff are legally required to be trained to respond to emergencies, so just because my career path isnt in nursing does not mean I dont need that experience.

In addition, its a finacially sound investment for a college student, just in case I ever go through a period of unemployment, as CNAs are in constant demand.
Hospital? I suppose that when your patients come to you, you send them to pray. Otherwise, you are thinking that you have better healing powers than God.
I hope this is not the case!

Thank you for that, Senorita de Barriga (Is that correct?)

So often, people regard us here at Landover as though we wrote those parts of the Bible that are so offensive to the modern sensibility. It can be a challenge to defend beliefs and practices that seem outmoded at best and psychopathic at worst. But when dealing with a Supreme Being Who holds one's fate in His Mighty and Demanding Hands, one learns not to argue.

What one does NOT do is to presume to tamper with the Revealed Word of an Eternal Being on the grounds that such a being-- Who exists outside the limits of time--would, of course, want His Holy pronouncements updated every few years to accommodate current trends.

God called both bestiality and homosexuality abominations back then, but He's cool with gays nowadays. And maybe next week He'll be fine with His followers buggering a dog.

But, pseudo-Christians won't succumb to that thinking because they love dogs and wouldn't stand for them being sodomized without their consent. If someone kicks a dog, however, they wouldn't mind if that person were imprisoned and subjected to anal rape.

Nowadays, hell is for whoever a given so-called Christian decides it is for, never mind God's judgement.

Like Sister Basilssa, I will be praying for you. Based on the sentence quoted above, you don't seem too worried about the possibility of dying and being sent to hell, while you are still sorting things out about whether you want to offer God the total, unquestioning obedience that He requires.

If you don't believe in hell, that's your business. But if you are going to talk about worshiping God based on the Bible's depiction of His qualities, personality and intentions, you might want to tighten up and fly straight PRONTO.

God is not what one might call easy-going. And He does not offer a take it or leave option for humanity. It's more like "Do EXACTLY as I say, or I will punish you." Moses missed out on the Promised Land after 40 years of putting up with the Israelites' bitching, just because he tapped on a rock twice. A couple of people were struck dead in the early church for holding back a few shekels from their tithe.

And here you are, meandering along, figuring, yeah, I'll work things out with God sooner or later, no hurry. The Lord warns us in His Word that we don't know the hour of His return. Do you really want to be caught with your pants down?

    Ominously Yours,
    Handmaiden

    Amen and praise !

After all, it is Him Who decided to take away those blinds in your eyes, after deceiving you and leading you on the path to eternal damnation your whole life:

    2 Thessalonians 2:10-12
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

I hope that members of this community will continue to bear patience with my misunderstandings and incomplete knowledge, and aid me on my path.
    Oh, that's easy, dear: just

But I still believe that so long as I am making an effort to follow the word of gGod, that for all the mistakes and falterings I may make, I will find my way back to hHis side.
I will pray for you, dear.

I believe I understand this now, and I thank the various members who have clarified this distinction to me. Clearly there are some differences in how I have been reading and following the lord's teachings to how you lovely individuals do so. I believe this forum may be a healthy place for me to learn after all.

Perhaps I should not be attempting to fit the lord's word to what I see, but instead should change how I see the world to better fit the lord's word. I will spend some time reflecting on this today, and pray for guidance. It is only too suiting for guidance to come near christ's birthday, to show that I may have been in error. A portentous sign, if one is to believe in such things.

I hope that members of this community will continue to bear patience with my misunderstandings and incomplete knowledge, and aid me on my path. I may wish to discuss the teachings of the bible at first, as I have spent most of my life trying to make the word of god apply to all the unusual things I have seen, and perhaps I take the teachings of forgiveness and compassion for my fellow man too far at times when he has sinned and should repent. I am unsure as I type this... I will need to think for a time and reflect upon the matter.

But I still believe that so long as I am making an effort to follow the word of god, that for all the mistakes and falterings I may make, I will find my way back to his side.

Perhaps I can take away a few of your disappointments. This is a Christian forum where Christians follow the Bible. Care to take a look at what the Bible says in Deuteronomy 4:2 and Proverbs 30:5-6. Then take James 2:10 in account and you might understand why it is wise for Christians to follow the rules instead of interpretating them.

That would be me, as Kohr is my surname. My full name is Jeffers Daniel Kohr.

I was unsure what to put as my username- since I don't use social media or forums very often, so I defaulted in my choice to make a cheeky joke while remaining anonymous. I have previously posted that had I the option, I would change it to something in better taste for the forum, or something better suited for serious discussion.

I believe that for the most part, I agree with your interpretation of my words, in the sense that you understood the intent with which I presented myself; which is that I have joined here(upon a reccomendation from a friend) to discuss religious topics and the nature of morality in relation to god with others who have more thoroughly studied the bible than I have, and who's viewpoints come from a perspective that I am unable by my own experience to understand.

In short I came here to find perspective and have intellectual discussion on the bibles teachings, or how we interpret it. I did Not come here to spread my own views, contradict others beliefs, or insult others ability to think for themselves. I know I have an incomplete knowledge of christian teachings, since my parents raised me with barely any exposure to the church, and my schooling glossed over world religions without answering any of the questions I had.

I do wish to note however that you have misinterpreted several statements from my introduction(though understandably)such as when I say: people use the teachings of the bible to judge for themselves what is right or wrong. I am meaning that only in the sense that I believe in free will, and that we make choices that can be wrong at times, but so long as we persist in an effort to live according to God's teaching, we are always able to find our way back from our errors.

I will be more careful with my phrasing in the future to prevent misunderstandings like this in the future, and thank you for your input into this.

    Have a blessed day!
    Sincerely, Mr.Kohr

However, as it so often happens with undergrad student papers, the underlining premise of your thought is flawed. This lovely community does not interpret the Bible; rather, they follow it as it is written.

I should say 2 things though; "div" is an odd choice for god to have used since it means "divergent" only in mathmatics, and "nieve or foolish" only in prison slang.

Also /div is a coding command, used to help structure a web-page, and sometimes when an incorrect format is used (such as using a smartphone to upload a post on a website that has not been optimised for mobile users) sections of the web-page's coding fail to run properly, resulting in what we see in my introduction.

The easiest solution to the issue is to edit the text again so the separations between paragraphs run properly, but I cannot edit my post at this time.

    Hello Mr. Kohr,

Welcome to the forum. I had to wait for your latest post to be able to write this, since your first post was completely unreadable. It is nice to see your writing improve so fast.

    Kind regards,
