  • Hello from Nigeria

I was here around 2013, introduced myself and got unfriendly responses and insults about my country and continent. I was forced to speak out and defend myself because I never read about Landover Baptist before coming here. I remember a name from that event which is Pim Pendergast. I apologised that day but still got my account deleted. Hope you guys have forgiven me, for exchanging words with people old enough to be my parents and grandparents.

Welcome E- Mart. I don't see a history of you. In any event, we would like for you to write a summary of your walk with Jesus. That we might save someone from Darkest Africa is always something we are ready to do.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

From memory Brother Pendergast went slightly off his rocker became inspired by The Lord to seek out a mission on the dark continent muttering something about purging demons. I wonder if he ever made it to Negeria?
If I have seen further, it is by standing on the heads of others.

I just found this picture from Eastern Nigeria. Christians in Freehold do not dress and dance like this. An explanation of how this honors Jesus would be most helpful.

Ògógóró, although not a word I believe exists, is promoted as Nigeria's national drink. Jesus understood the importance of celebration—His first miracle was triggered by a lack of alcohol—yet there are drinks and "drinks" of wildly differing provenance. Pivotal here is the descriptor red.

Proverbs 23:31 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright.

Why should this be? A yellow wine or a purple (or for that matter blue or green wines) seem little different from red wines. And of course God explains why, because He loves us and does not want to see us tortured in perdition forever. (Or even for 5 minutes.) God does not torture those whom He loves. He explains it this way, in the beautiful 75th Psalm:

Psalm 75:4 8 I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn . . . For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.

Let's say ògógóró exists and is a popular drink. Should it run out at a wedding, would Jesus transmute the atoms of water into those of ògógóró? And it's easy to answer: is ògógóró red? Your comment would be appreciated.

The participant 2nd from right: I am very uncertain: is he lifting not up the horn or is he? And particularly, is he on the ògógóró. Looking forward to a reply from OP and—if it's not red—might look out for some for the drinks cabinet.

          Thank you.

Fine questions and observations, Sister Mitza. I feel badly our friend felt someone belittled his country or race. It must have been a misunderstanding. We treat all with respect here. We do, however, compare what people do and say with what God wrote in the Bible. We are just unable to bend on that.

In Isaiah 61:10 we learn God has clothed us in a robe of righteousness. What the gentlemen in the picture are wearing causes me to wonder if they are Christians.

Psalm 89:46 How long, LORD? wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy wrath burn like fire?

I have no idea what's going on in that clip, other than demon possession. The more people reject Christ, the more demons prevail. Perching oneself in a fire is as much begging demonic protection as obsessing over an idol, such as the so-called madonna

..and sure, she'd probably make a good wife for that creature in the fire. But would he be suitable for any Christian woman?

I doubt it. If Nigeria has moved beyond superstition, that would be very good news to hear. Only Jesus saves from infinity torture, the outcome we were all born deserving to receive.

              Hallelujah.

Well, a cautionary welcome to you, Miss E-Mart. I so hope that you have repented from the trouble-making ways that saw you banned from so many years ago. Now, then; since you are with us in 2025, might I ask if you are involved with any sinful shenanigans — such as this?

If you engage in any such disgusting behavior, then it is apparent that you are not reading the Holy Word of the Living ! Your first task (if you wish to escape the eternal, fires of , which you deserve — so assuredly) is this:
