    Syrian-Lebanese Greek Orthodox-Roman Catholic here!

    Hi!

I was born in Latakia, Syria and lived in Beirut until I was four. Then I moved to New Jersey! I was baptized Greek Orthodox but received the rest of my sacraments in a Roman Catholic church.

I like doing drugs, listening to music, and I'm a biology major going to graduate school for microbiology, with an emphasis on virology.

I believe in a collective chemical energy which not only forms the basis of the universe, but mediates the interaction between my cells and the many receptors which dictate my life. Spirituality can be explained chemically, as can most other aspects of life. I love physics and the notion that all matter is an illusion; what we perceive to be real is simply the misunderstanding of our somewhat primitive minds. We are, in fact, blind creatures, and can only see because of the nerve endings connecting my photoreceptors to the occipital lobe in my brain.

I believe in peace and tolerance. I like sarcasm and this site. I probably won't post much, but I thought I'd see the reaction from others to my weird religious and national background. Take care!
Proverbs 1:26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; 1:27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. 1:28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

I like how you admit to freely ingesting large amounts of mind-altering drugs then spit out some drug-crazed notion of spirituality being explained chemically. Of course your bizarre genetic makeup and years of abuse at the hands of the Catholic Church might explain that.

You don't need drugs to understand things. That is why God gave us the King James Bible.

My reaction is that you're going to hell.
Recognition, sorrow, confession, forgiveness, restitution, forsaking the sin.
The Lord forgives me of my sin.

Yes sir I've ingested some copious amounts of tryptamines and amphetamines and phenethylamines and indoles and so on, all of which have worked in my brain because I believe the good "Lord" or metaphysical energy as I like to refer to Him made it so that my brain and your brain and all our brains would be filled with receptors that would have exact, physical matches to all of these substances. The volume and chemical structure/shape of certain derivatives and analogues and racemic mixtures work much like the neurotrasmitters God already gave us all; the only difference is that I LOVE what God gave me so much, that I like to take in more and more of his love and genius!

Hence, you may eat a blade of grass and it will do nothing; but eat of the magic mushroom and your world will be transformed. Thank God!

Do you ever wonder how long it takes some of these failed attempts to realize they are in hell once they get there ??

Jud 1:15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are unGodly among them of all their unGodly deeds which they have unGodly committed, and of all their hard [speeches] which unGodly sinners have spoken against him.

You know I was born closer to Jesus than most of you here. In fact, I'm willing to bet that I've spent more time on holy land that Jesus traversed during his travels, and thus I am more spiritually aware and closer to salvation than anyone on this forum!

Salvation is not attained via proximity to the Holy Land. In fact, you yourself disprove that theory utterly.

If you're referring to your quote, then I must tell you that Empty Space is created by God. Look at the opening of Genesis 1...

1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
He created the Earth, which was formless, void, and dark. That is the empty space you are referring to. God has 100% success rate in creation. He is after all, God.

The Earth WAS formless, void, and dark. Now there is form and light, yet all of these things are still made up of atoms and empty space.

Empty Space is formless void and dark. Are you saying you disagree with this? What is Space to you in your drug-addled perceptions then?

Also your theory about being born in proximity to the Holy Land having to do with Salvation...please show us where in Scripture this says so.

The Lebanon Cedar is mentioned over 70 times in the Bible, for example:
                            • "The priest shall take cedarwood and hyssop and scarlet stuff, and cast them into the midst of the burning of the heifer" (Numbers 19:6).

                            • "The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like the cedar in Lebanon" (Psalm 92:12).

                            • "I will put in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia, the myrtle, and the olive" (Isaiah 41: 19).

                            • "Behold, I will liken you to a cedar in Lebanon, with fair branches and forest shade" (Ezekiel 31:3).

                            • "I destroyed the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars" (Amos 2:9).

                            • "The trees of the LORD are well watered, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted." (Isaiah 2:13 NIV).

Jewish priests were ordered by Moses to use the bark of the Lebanon Cedar in circumcision and treatment of leprosy. Isaiah used the Lebanon Cedar as a metaphor for the pride of the world[17] According to the Talmud, Jews once burned Lebanese cedar wood on the Mount of Olives to announce the new year. Kings far and near requested the wood for religious and civil constructs, the most famous of which are King Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem and David's and Solomon's Palaces.
