If you were a criminal, could you not choose to simply stop committing crimes? Why is a sinner choosing to stop sinning any different? If we have free will, why can't we choose to stop sinning? We chose to start sinning. We weren't born sinners. "Original sin" is a lie.
I think you just don't want to stop sinning. You are too in love with your sin, and you don't want to stop. If you love Jesus and want to do His will, then why haven't you stopped sinning like He told you to? What sins are you still enslaved to?
You never answered my question. What does "repent" mean to you?
Why would God give us laws and not give us the ability to follow them? What good are laws if they are impossible to obey? Why would Jesus tell us to stop sinning if it were impossible? Jesus said "Go, and sin no more." He didn't say, "go, and try to cut back on the sinning."
