I beg your pardon. You are quite right. I have just checked some sites and, yes, the seed makers do go. So they are gelded... Sorry about that. I had misunderstood or misremembered something that I had heard in the past.

I just found a site that goes into the operation in great detail with explicit photographs stage by stage. There were several warnings on the site but I headed them not. I won't put the link here. If you excuse me, I will now go and have a drink or a couple of valium.
