    You can call me BOH

Hollo, My name is David. My Dad used to drag me to a Methodist church when I was a kid. WHen I was 23 I went to church to jump through the hoops to get baptized. That was 17 years ago and that is the last time I have been a part of any organized religion, aside from 2 times I went to a Buddhist thingy, but it can be argued that Buddhism isn't a religion. My mainstays are the New Testament and Eastern phylosophy. I have lived my life of poverty and celibacy alone. I have spent a while now going from site to site fighting for the truth about religion, phylosophy, the New Testament, Jesus Christ, Christianity, and God.

The Bible (KJV1611) consists of the Old and New Testament. The members of Landover do not pick and choose Bible scripture. The Word of God is not a cafeteria where you can just have pudding, you must eat from all the tables.

Did you by chance notice the is Gods Favorite Church? We are True Christians(TM) , we live by the entire Bible, every last word!

I personaly have not felt any strong connection to the OT. I tend to follow what inspires me to the mind and soul. It is still there for me, but the NT is where it's at imho. Hope that whole Christianity thing is going well for you.

Hello what I got from your post says you are here to explain that we are wrong, I sincerely hope this is a misinterpretation.

If it is then I welcome you here to worship our Lord Jesus.

If not than I would HIGHLY suggest reading all our rules and noob stickies before blatantly posting against the rules.

        Have a good day.

THe NT is all about Christ's ministry. If I were to follow his ministry and teachings, doesn't that make a Christian? It seems like if I find the NT FAR more enlightening than the OT, it would make me MORE Christian, or at least more DEVOTED to Christianity than anything else. I go by what Jesus says. I utilize his compassion in my life, and to you I don't even qualify to be in your little tea party? Do you think I'm going to lose any sleep over what you consider me to be?

How could things be better, I have a loving family, my friends at Landover, and most of all I have the Love of our Savior Jesus. The comfort I have comes from my knowledge of Jesus, and that I will be at his side for all eternity.

So tell me why has Jesus directed you to our church?

It truly saddens me that that there are people that read their bible with a highlighter.

I completely agree Brother Mike. Did God intend for mankind to pick and choose His words to suit there needs or moods ? I think not.

Could you please show us the Scripture where Jesus tells us to ignore the Old Testament?

Friend, you need to follow the WHOLE Bible, not your conscience. Read about it HERE.

The New Testament says we are to follow the entire bible.

                      Matthew 5:18-19
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

                      Luke 16:17
And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

                      Matthew 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

                      Luke 4:4
And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

BOH, can I call you David? Crisp!

David, the Bible is a Book, the best Book in the world, in that there is no dispute. It has a first page and a last page as most books do. If you skip parts of a Book, you will miss some of the story. Could you imagine if you had a dictionary and only used the first part (that is letter "A") and the last part (that is letter "Z") and ignore the rest? All you could say would be Apples and Zebras, and you would have a very hard time in life, unless of course you live in an Apple orchard and had a pet Zebra.. Well David, the Bible is the Dictionary of Life(tm). You have to read all of the Bible, follow everything it says without deviation. Those words are in there for a very good reason. It is Gods instruction manual for people. If God had intended parts to be optional, I am sure in his infinite wisdom, he would of marked those passages as such and left footnotes, don't you agree?
See David, I have developed a special kinship for you and want to steer you on the right path. With the help of the Pastors and Reverends at Landover, I am sure we can. Just give us the chance, I implore you. Don't shut us out.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

I haven't shut anything out. The OT is there for me. THe happenings and teachings of Jesus Christ are what I meditate on most. The OT is of a much more primative world, where expensive rites and rituals were needed in order to please God. But now we have Jesus. I would tewll all of Haiti to turn away from their priomitive ways and accept the deity of Christ in their hearts.
