    Glory Be!

I am so thrilled to find fellow True Believers on the [typically vile] internet.

My name is Bernice and I am a single lady in Lima, Ohio. I live with my three cats and enjoy close fellowship with Bible-believing followers of Jesus.

May the Lord bless Landover Baptist Church for its amazing outreach in this sinful world!

    Re: Glory Be!

Praise Jesus and welcome aboard, friend. Do you have your father's permission to be posting here? Have you set up a tithing plan yet? Why aren't you married? What's your favourite Bible verse?
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

      Re: Glory Be!

Welcome Bernice, I assume you are being chaparoned or looked over as you travel the interwebs.
Tell me, Bernice, what is your favorite verse from the KJV?
What Church do you belong to?
Why do you have cats and not dogs?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

        Dear Brothers:

I am not accustomed to talking about myself so much! But of course I will submit to your wise questions.

        1) I do not have my father's permission (nor supervision) as he has met his reward. My dear Mother has been a widow for 30 plus years now.
        2) I belong to the First Evangelical Church of Lima, Ohio. Of course I tithe!
        3) The Lord has not seen fit to provide me a husband, but I take comfort in the fact that Paul, in his first letter to the Corinthians (chapter 7) asserts it is preferable to remain a virgin that to marry. (I was engaged once, but that's another topic!)
        4) My favorite Bible verse is II Timothy 3:16 - ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. (Tell that to those who pick and choose what the Bible says to further their own agenda!)
        5) I have cats because they are so cute! I knit outfits for them.

        Thank you,
        - Bernice

Welcome to Gods Favorite Forum™. You seem to be a good subservient Christian woman.

You did not mention what pies you specialize in.

          Leviticus 26:27-29

          27 And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me;
28 Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.
29 And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.

I am so honored by your kind words of welcome, Pastor Ezekiel, Brother Hutchins, Brother Temperance and Brother SayvedByTheLord!

I hope there will be a bake sale soon. I do specialize in pies and, although I am very hesitant to appear boastful, my home-made mincemeat pie with the lattice crust won the blue ribbon at the Defiance County Fair!

Please, Godly Admins, could you give us ladyfolk a tiny corner of the forum to further our feminine skills? Dear Brother James -

My testimony is a somewhat simple one. When I was a mere wisp of a girl (11 years) my pet box-turtle Shelly died unexpectedly.

While sobbing into my Mother's apron, I demanded to understand what death meant. My patient Mother reminded me about everything I'd heard in Sunday School, especially how Jesus died on the cross for our sins. I was, for the first time in my young life, completely certain that Jesus had not died in vain. He died for my sins so that I could live an eternal, happy life in heaven above....even if poor Shelly could not.

I accepted Jesus into my heart as my Lord and Savior, and have been growing in my faith and understanding of the Lord ever since.

I am not a perfect Christian - I do struggle with a judgmental side (why can't heathen idiots see the truth!?) - but I do try to live my life as sin-free as possible.

                            Praise!
