    Introduction

Hello all, my name is Josie and I am eighteen years old.

I suppose I should start off right from the beginning with why I am here.

I was raised a Roman Catholic, but I never really agreed with anything that I had learned in church. Now, I am constantly wavering between being an agnostic and an atheist.

I don't really have any plans of changing this... I'm learning to be happy with who I am. I've been through a lot, and so far religion hasn't really changed anything. According to a lot of you, I deserved every bit of torment I've been through. I used to agree with you, but not for the same reasons.

Anyways, I'm here simply because I want to learn. I've researched and dabbled into several religions, but never truly found anything that I considered right, or 'home.' So, this is why I am here. Not because I want to be converted, but because I am curious about your points of view on everything.

Well, that is all I can really think of to say. I'm sure there was something else I was supposed to read that told me what to put, but I must have missed it. (Paranoia, haha).

Thanks for taking the time to view this and I hope that none of you will hate me. (And hopefully keep the threats of fire and brimstone to a minimum)
    1 Timothy 2:11-15
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing.

    Re: Introduction

Welcome Josie to God's Favorite Forum(tm). I am glad you threw off the shackles of those mary-worshippers and saw them for what they are. I will give you credit for that. However, it's sad to see you waver between atheism and agnosticism when the Truth is right in front of your face.

Are there any local independent Baptist churches in your area? I'd advise you to contact a pastor and get your hands on an AV1611 King James Bible and look into getting Saved(r). If that's not possible for you, perhaps some arrangements could be made. I'd be willing to work with you, hands-on, and one-on-one in private in order for you to secure your Salvation(r).

    God bless you.

      Re: Introduction

Thank you Reverend for your kind welcome.

As said, I'm not really looking to be saved or anything like that, but you never know. Maybe a few days on this forum will convince me!

I will keep your link though and think about it.

      Thanks,
      Josie

        Re: Introduction

Interesting screen name you have there. I like to try to see hidden meaning and in your name, I found "Nolita Fairytale". Tell me friend, what is it supposed to mean?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

          Re: Introduction

Oh, my name isn't really anything special. Nolita is the shortened version of North of Little Italy which is a part of New York City where I grew up. The fairytale part is simply because the time that I lived there was when I was still happy and believed in happy endings and the such.

It's cheesy, I know, but I like it.

Well Josie, I'd like to suggest some light reading material, the KJV1611 Bible. It is full of really cool True stories about God, Jesus, Moses and a bunch of other awesome fellows. I think you'd really like it.
