Right, so the wars that Republican presidents get us involved in, US Civil war, Spain, Philippines, Nicaragua, Afghanistan, and Iraq, were unnecessary wars, but the wars that Democrat presidents get us involved in, Korea, Vietnam, Lebanon, Serbia, Somalia, and now Libya, were totally necessary.

You have probably blocked from your mind the fact that Obama, after campaigning on a promise to end the war in Iraq and bring the troops home, completely reversed himself and escalated the war instead. Oh yeah, and he also renewed the Patriot Act in full, kept the Bush tax cuts on the wealthiest Americans, kept Gitmo open, and approved continued use of "enhanced interrogation" techniques.

well, if we didn't drop the bomb on the japs, they might have continued on fighting and we would possibly have to invade their mainland. The invasion of the japanese mainland would cost millions of lives and materials.

iraq and afghanistan are not necesary. you don't need to invade 2 countries to catch a terrorist group. i do agree with you that Vietnam and Korea were unnecessary (except we aren't involved that much in Libya, we're only providing aerial and political support)

if JFK wasn't assasinated, the vietnam war might not have happened or might have been delayed because JFK was completely against open warfare in vietnam even though most of his advisors told him to go to war

now the war in afghanistan is heating up because the terrorist groups and the taliban are stepping up their attacks, so we bring in more troops in response

the USA got involved in WWII when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. the war against the Germans started because Hitler declared war on us. I am very taken by what goes on on these boards. I am also very taken that you participate in this. I thought of becoming born again, these forums have completely turned me away. I feel no love, no warmth or spirituality here. I feel horrible anger and hate. I will stick to my meditation and my own connection with Jesus, This is hell. These forms are all what satan stands for.

You can not have your "own connection with Jesus". That is not how it works. Either you follow the Holy Bible or you burn in Hell. No shortcuts.

Urbansetter, we only have anger and hate if God tells us to. We just follow the word of God and the teachings of Jesus. If you are searching for something I suggest that you just read the whole Bible and make up your own mind. Don't go to Bible reading classes or your local church because they will twist the Bible to fit their own ideas. You may finish the Bible and see things our way. You may finish it and decide to be an atheist. At least have the strength of character to make a decision. Being a Christian is like being a virgin, you either are or your not, there is no half way position. Whatever you do please don't be a lukewarm hippy Christian who uses the Bible like a menu and picks the bits he likes and buries his head in the sand about the bits he doesn't. I am sure that you are stronger and better person than that.
