  • Heya

Well, after finally finding out how to view my private messages I decided to write my own introduction. It seems that I already have 2 infractions (unintentionally) after 5 posts. Shame on me. In one of the infraction messages the user "Pastor Ezekiel" said to write an introduction topic and so I am doing right now. This is the ethical thing to do when you are new in a forum after all.

I am atheist (even though most of my relatives are Christians, including my parents). I remember that when I was younger and told my parents about my religious believes things had gotten out of control for a while but I refuse to be a hypocrite or to lie about how much I love Jesus. I respect their religious believes and I expected the same from them. And so it happened.

I was born in Romania and I am not exactly proud of it. All of our so called leaders are a bunch of greedy idiots who only care about themselves. I will eventually move to either England or Germany when I have the means to do it.

I am both white and straight. After reading some of the topics I realize that people here care about these things. I am ashamed to admit it but when I see a man acting gay I feel like puking my small intestine out of my mouth. I don't really hate gay people but I just cannot stand their behavior in open public.

I am browsing this forum mainly because I am intrigued by the uniqueness of this religion version (even though I do not approve it).

I know that me being an atheist might influence a bit of mocking or insulting towards me (at least that's what I think after reading some stuff around here) but if you really consider that this is appropriate then by all means, shoot me with all you got.

    And that's about it I guess. So...umm...hi!

    Re: Heya

let me be the first to welcome you, but I have to wonder why a self proclaimed atheist would want to be part of a Baptist forum.
Is it because you have that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach, that knowledge of the chasm or void if you will, in your heart and have a strong suspicion that what you need is to make Jesus your best bud? If so, then friend, you have come to the right place. I'd like to suggest some light reading, the KJV1611 Bible for starters.

    YIC
    JH
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Well introducing yourself is the polite thing to do after all. Would you barge into somebodies house or club and start throwing around your opinions without at least introducing yourself first?

I am atheist (even though most of my relatives are Christians, including my parents). I remember that when I was younger and told my parents about my religious believes things had gotten out of control for a while but I refuse to be a hypocrite or to lie about how much I love Jesus. They got out of control? They were just trying to bring you back to Jesus! How old are you? Are you sure this isn't just a teenage rebellious period?

Well don't expect much difference in moving to another country. Politics is the bed chamber of Satan.

I am both white and straight. After reading some of the topics I realize that people here care about these things. I thought everyone from Romania were gypsies.

We only follow the KJV Bible to the letter. We do not deviate from it like false Christians do. Perhaps this is why you became disillusioned with Christianity? Are your parents false Christians?

I know that me being an atheist might influence a bit of mocking or insulting towards me (at least that's what I think after reading some stuff around here) but if you really consider that this is appropriate then by all means, shoot me with all you got.

We'd rather save your soul. As for the mocking, this may sound childish, but usually they start it. If you're on here and show respect then we will try to convert you to Christianity. If you start mocking us, then we will mock back.

Unfortunately that is not the case. Maybe it was in the year when I fought with my parents about my religious believes. I was a bit desperate then. I was searching for more and more information about God's existence but the more I searched the more I reinforced my atheist believes. I also had the feeling that most people around me only believed in God because of the fear of going to Hell not because they truly loved Him. I am simply unable to believe that God actually exists. I am what you call "a lost soul".

I am browsing this forum mainly due to curiosity and fascination. I found out about this forum from some friends. They found out about a topic where a woman had to marry her rapist or something. I will be frank about this, they were laughing about those who said that the woman should marry her rapist instead of bringing him to justice. Personally, when I read a few pages of that topic I was shocked about the seriousness with which was that topic treated. But it triggered my curiosity as well.

I will keep in mind that I have no rights in this forum. I do not wish to cause anymore trouble here than I have already done.

Admitting you have a problem is an important first step towards a solution.
Well, I do not see this as a problem... at least not anymore. I used to struggle to find the answer for all my religion doubts and all were pointing out to atheism. I am in peace with myself and I do not regret my decisions.

I am glad you are honest about hating Jesus.
I do not actually hate Jesus. I simply ceased to believe that Jesus actually existed.

We prefer to save your soul instead.

Where exactly did it go wrong? What made you lose your faith?
Religiously speaking, my soul is already doomed. I am convinced in my believes and I highly doubt that it can be changed.

Pretty much everything made me lose my faith. I dislike believing in something only because of fear, in this case Hell. Pretty much all those around me are like this and I simply can't stand this kind of atmosphere. In Romania, we also have religion hours where we are taught about Christianity. I used to have a convinced Christian as a teacher. He used to threaten that we go to Hell if we do not follow his teachings. The more I participated to those hours the more disturbed I felt.

Another reason that made me lose my faith was all the knowledge I came across through chemistry, biology, physics books...basically everything that involved science. And when I started reading information on the internet...well, it just reinforced my believes.

When I admitted to myself that I just didn't believe in God I had a great feeling of freedom. I felt unchained by the shackles of my world and I felt free to explore many new things that a normal Christian wouldn't do. Umm...if this last paragraph is offending or something I would ask for a forum moderator to delete it. (Trying to respect the rules and all)

Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

I am neither a gypsy nor a thief. If you decide to believe in stereotypes then that is your choice. Just because Romania has 40% of the population originated from India that doesn't mean that I am one of them. Personally, I dislike gypsies myself. 90% of the gypsy population from Romania are thieves that start making children at the age of 14. They are one of the reasons why I want to leave this country.

At least you appear to be honest. Certainly not at all like that persons who I will not name but has the initials B. C.

Friend, God is by your side, He is with you always. Believing in God is Faith. You have faith God will make the sun rise in the morning. I think you will severely regret not making a more informed choice. I cannot say this strongly enough but, read the entire Bible, know that is what religion and God is all about. Keep in mind it is the entire Bible, not just the parts about kittens, puppies and ice cream.

I am saddened to hear your friends think rape and God are funny. They sound like some pretty messed up people if you ask me.

It is true, a woman who is raped should offer herself to the rapist and the rapist should pay the dowry of 50 shekels (about $200) to the girls father. But is also true that we must follow secular law also so the man should be prosecuted for the rape in a court of law. But... according to the Bible, a woman cannot bear witness against her husband, so a conviction would be difficult to sustain. Furthermore, if they do get married, the rape has evolved into premarital sex, something God does frown on. Lastly, if the woman gets pregnant, does not the child deserve a chance to know its' father?

Hello. I was wondering if you would be able to supply a young Romanian house-girl to work for me at my ranch? I hear they're hard workers, even some of the gypsy ones.
Romanian girls are really good house workers but they demand to be treated with the utmost respect. They also don't stay silent as your Bible suggest they should. As for the gypsy ones I strongly recommend to stay away from them unless you want all your stuff to disappear over the night.

"Knowledge is power" they say. I will give your Bible a shot even though I am certain it will not change the way I think. Since so many people here seem very "attracted" to this book there must be something good in it.

I am saddened to hear your friends think rape and God are funny. They sound like some pretty messed up people if you ask me.
Actually, they believe that "your" God is funny. Romanian Christianity version is mostly like yours but there are some changed parts here and there and the Bible isn't followed word by word.

It is true, a woman who is raped should offer herself to the rapist and the rapist should pay the dowry of 50 shekels (about $200) to the girls father. Lastly, if the woman gets pregnant, does not the child deserve a chance to know its' father?
Personally, I find it unethical for the rapist to even be free let alone marry the girl he raped. Basically, this way the rapist wins. He did a bad thing and it is "transformed" into a good thing by paying $200. If he really wanted that girl so much he could have just payed the girl's father before raping the girl. This way the girl wouldn't probably need to go to the psychologist (not sure if I spelled the profession right) for therapy and a whole drama would be avoided.

I do agree that the child deserves a chance to life though and without a father there would be some things missing in his growing up process... This is complicated.

Welcome, remember, you can learn much on this forum. You can check here for more information regarding your feelings. Still, you are not gay yourself are you?
I have already mentioned in the paragraph you quoted that I am straight, therefore I am not gay. If you still doubt my sexual orientation then there is nothing more I can do here.

Son, I am not going to do another quote. But you need to read all the words in front of you. You miss entire parts.
                              A man rapes a woman
According to God, he is obliged to offer the womans father, 50 shekels for her hand
The woman should accept the offer else she is damaged goods.
Secular law states the man must go to trial and possibly jail.
Biblical law states a woman should not say ill of her husband

So he could not off the 50 shekels, and be a dirt bag in Gods eyes
She could rebuff his offer of marriage and be branded a harlot
She could speak against her husband/the rapist and send him to jail and be scorned by the heart of our Lord.
