  • Greetings to all

I just wanted to say hello to everyone on the forums, and introduce myself! I'm a music professor and general music-ophile.

I hope to meet many of you on these forums, and I look forward to talking with you all! God bless!

    Re: Greetings to all

    Dear friend:

I bid you welcome in Christ's abundant love. What are your favorite Bible verses? How much time do you spend each evening praying and studying the King James Bible? Have you set up a tithing schedule yet?
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

No relation, although I question how you would know exactly who he gives voice to.

I'm fairly sure Harper is a very common English name, and James isn't exactly the crowning pinnacle of originality.

        Thanks for the warm welcome.

If you're interested in hearing some high quality (the highest, in fact) Christian music, then you need go no further than Johann S. Bach. Everything he wrote was a tribute to the majesty of God.

Depending on your tastes and how developed your musical sense is I'd recommend checking out the B minor Mass and St. Matthew's Passion.

He was a filthy mary worshiper, but some of his tunes are nice I suppose. A bit high brow for our congregation.

Nice if you want to sip wine and eat cheese with a surrendor monky like John Kerry but we TRUE Christians(tm) prefer near beer and hotdogs with a real war hero like GW Bush.

Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

Better than that filthy Commie rapist Beethoven. "Ode to Joy" indeed!
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

Or Mahler, a dzhoo who converted to papistry and hung out with "intellectuals and artists" (and we all know what that means) in Vienna, which made him thrice damned.

Indeed, Dr. Harper, welcome. You can call me Guardian. Don't let the name fool you.
I cannot say much for classical, unless it's classic rock. I also like several other kinds of music. Tell me, have you heard anything from Celtic Woman? Mo Ghile Mear is a love song to die for.
