I see. You are a religious tourist, perhaps? You are willing to believe what is presented to you by an attractive spokesman, maybe?

You sound like you are ripe for the teachings of Jesus!
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

Gosh! It seems that the Lord picked the right time to lead you here, Angel~Niki PRAISE HIM INDEED!

I suggest that one of the first things you do now that God has lead you here, is get yourself a KJV1611 Bible.

As Christians, we must do what is right and follow the Lord's Word to the letter.

"Everybody’s doing it" or "it is my boyfriend's influence" is hardly an argument to justify involvement. The ONLY voices you should be listening to are that of God, your husband, your Pastor or True Christians!

They very fact that pagans practice body piercing should be a compelling enough argument against it.

The Scriptures are clear that we must treat our bodies with respect, they are not our own to do with as we wish. They belong to God, who made them and who purchased them with His own blood, in his sacrifice. Our bodies are to be vessels of The Lord. We are to glorify God with our bodies. Our bodies are not to mock Him!

Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ Himself? … Who is in you even if you are unawares, whom you have received from God? 1 Corinthians 6:

15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

The Bible records how pagans abused their bodies. The false prophets of Baal.

      1 Kings 18:28

The demon possessed man of Gadara cut himself with stones and ran around naked.

      Mark 5:5

It was the custom of the Ishmaelite men to wear gold earrings.

      Judges 8:24

Biblically, a pierced ear is a public indication of permanent slavery. When the Hebrews were led out of slavery in Egypt by Moses, they were urged to take off the gold earrings!

      Exodus 32: 1-3

After God spoke to Jacob, he instructed his household to get rid of their idols and purify themselves. Along with their stone idols, and they also buried their earrings.

      Genesis 35:2

What more proof do you need to see that your current path is not that of God?!

trust me it is not my first choice of profession, but it does pay for me to go to college and in a year or so I can quit. It is a means to an end, I guess
Are there no Christian book stores in your area or perhaps an Outback Steakhouse? A position in either would help you pay to go to college. Your current vocation however is making you an enabler of false teachings and of satan himself!

As for why, I think it was mainly the influence of my ex, He definitely had a way of explaining Paganism that made it quite attractive and interesting. As I have started to look into it, I don't know that it holds the answers that I seek.
He must have been a Charlatan and a fraud for even suggesting it to you!

Just know Angel~Niki, we are here to help you walk the path to Heaven! It perhaps is harder to get your footing on it, but it is so much better than running down a highway to Hell!

A KJV1611? Lol I'm pretty sure they don't print those any more. A modern KJV will do though, its not exactly the same as the 1611 version though. Is that what ya'll swear by here? The original 1611 version?

Personally, I use a KJV, but if you have trouble with the old English, you may wish to pick up an ESV at your local Christian bookstore. Its much easier to understand, and its not a bit corrupted like the NIV or The Message. Overall a good version. Some of the Greek and Hebrew professors at my Seminary checked it out, and unlike many other versions they are very happy with the translation of the ESV. Check it out!

You obviously have forgotten a VERY important verse, Mr Derk.

"And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." (Luke 11:9-10 KJV)

I hear in Paganism that women run everything. Imagine if we let women run anything else other than Paganism and the kitchen, what a messed up world this would be.

                Ephesians 5:22-24
22Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

Ephesians 5:33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

Colossians 3:18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

1 Corinthians 11:9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.

                  Re: new, and honestly confused

Angel, I think some of your original question was overlooked. You seem to express concern that we are judgmental. We are, but for good reason. See Angel, once a person has been Saved(c), they arrive at a position where they are able to unbiasedly reflect on others and offer spiritual advice. That is what we True Christians(tm) try to do. We get people to open their eyes to Jesus. Many people have lots of messy, stinky baggage. We point it out and suggest ways to eliminate it. Being most all of us at one time or another were also sinners just like you, we learned what Jesus wanted us to do to cleanse ourselves in his blood. Make sense?

My one starting suggestion to you is to stop defiling human beings. you cannot improve on God's magnificent creation. Trying to do so is akin to attempting to say you are better than Him and it is a sin to do so.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

The Word of God can be had for free if you just visit your local Independant Baptist Church and ask the Pastor for one. Make sure you ask specifically for a KJV1611 Authorized Version Bible.

Also you can read one online at www.biblegateway.com. And for your assisted reading pleasure, Brother V has got a wonderful thread going HERE called "Bible in a Year."

                        Re: new, and honestly confused

Dear, I am honestly confused as to why you are the teenyist cofused about anything. Surely you came to a site named "Landover Baptist Church" because you expected to be told you were going to hell. Only the fluffiest of the Fluffy Bunny Christians has abandoned the concept of hell.

Many other religions as well as so-called "Bible-believing Christians" also acknowlege the value of hell despite their blindness in other areas.

Without hell, religion is as useless a square wheel! It goes nowhere!

Please understand that what you see as "harsh" is nothing compared to burning in hell forever and ever.

Since nobody respects and accepts the entire Bible word-for-word as the truth about God like the people at LBC, no one else can properly counsel you on the realities of hell.

Pagans are fooling themselves about the historic validity of their religion. Fluffy Bunny Christains are fooling themselves on the nature of Jesus as recorded in the Bible. And all those other so-called, Bible-believing Christians are lying through their teeth when they insist that they can offer you peace and direction in life or honest answers to your questions about the divine.

We encourage you to delve deeply into the Bible for yourself.

Pay special attention to the instructions to hate your parents. Support the stoning of those whom God commands us to stone. Nod in approval at God's Holy instructions for the provision of genocide. Be prepared to go to any lengths necessary to avoid lust --warning -- this may involve some sort of self mutilation that will make piercing your most sensitive body parts feel like a warm bath in comparison. Be prepared to sell everything that you own to follow Jesus.

But most imortantly of all, do not question God, His instructions or His actions or the unchanging truth of His Word and His authority to send you to hell for doing any of the things listed in this paragraph or for NOT doing all of the things listed in the paragraph proceeding.

Now, believe it or not, there are some who become more confused when attempting to incorporate all the advice noted above. Just keep reading the Bible until everything becomes crystal clear. I wish that I could recommend skipping to the end, since Revelation is the most simply written and easiest to understand part of the whole Bible, but that would be cheating.

Here is the shortest summation that I can offer. Believe and obey every single word of the Bible as written at face value, or -- go to hell.

Some people like to take the chance of thinking for themselves on the bet that there is no hell.

We refer to these sorts of people as "People who are going to hell."

And we suffer no confusion at all.

                        Clearly Yours,

                        Handmaiden
His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.
