                1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

                Very few other translations agree with this passage. It is obvious that the writers of the KJV or Erasmus were borrowing from the Latin Vulgate, which happens to agree wholeheartedly with the KJV.

                From the ESV
                7For there are three that testify: 8the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree.
                Proverbs 25:21-22 If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:
                For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.
