  • A Friendly Hello.

Well, I've already tried to get involved on some of the conversations around here (specificaly the discussion on the sin of breast-feeding in case some of you haven't already seen).

I'm very much still young being only in my 20th year of life and I'm looking for what the true meaning of God is. I have a copy of the King James version of the Bible and a few other religious texts, so I guess you can say I'm doing the whole soul-searching thing here. I have a testimony (or what I believe to be a testimony anyway,) of Christ, the Lord and Redeemer of mankind.

My goals for myself are to maintain going through University, obtain a mroe understanding relationship with my parents, and help those around me with their own lives whether the issues be spiritual or simply dealing with life itself. I am always looking for ways to expand on knowledge and other ideas, but I also try to maintain my own values and individual worth without whoring myself to the sights and sounds of the world.

I hope to meet some new friends to help me gain a better understanding of the bible and the world around me. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Your purpose is what you want it to be.

Your' welcome to this Godly forum.

But what is with this "open minded" nonsense? I hope you are making some kind of joke. There is a God's way and everything else is Satan so what is there to be open minded about?

Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

        Re: A Friendly Hello.

Boy, you sound like a glass of lukewarm water.

Revelation 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

There is nothing to be "open-minded" about. It's either Christ's way or satan's way. A 20 year old heathen such as yourself would do well to not over-think things too much. You'll turn queer sooner or later and Jesus hates that.

Proverbs 28:26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.

        Wait a sec....You aren't a queer already, are you?
        Who Will Jesus Damn?

Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

          Re: A Friendly Hello.

Don't think our Pastor is being harsh for kicking you, a marshmallow, away from the Fire.

Understand, this place is boot camp for kids like you.

We intend to make a man of you. Unless you are a woman, of course.

If the latter, read more of the bible, before not posting later.

          Thanks, and welcome to Church,

          PP

All worthwhile goals, but I don't see "avoiding eternal torment in the Lake of Fire" in there. I'd advise you to make that your number one priority, and fast!
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

Okay welcome Open Minded ... BUT!

First, as some of the GODLY pastors have already warned you, there is no 'open-minded-ness' in GOD's LITERAL WORD, found in the King James version 1611 Bible ...

Psalm 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

Psalm 12:7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

Second, you've mentioned you want to gain a 'more understanding relationship with your parents' ... but unless your parents are already True Christians™ and follow every word of the Bible as literal fact, then in CHRIST there is no such thing, see here ...

Matthew 12:47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.
Matthew 12:48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?

Luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

Third, you say you are 'looking for ways to expand on knowledge and other ideas' ... BUT! see here!

1 Timothy 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
1 Timothy 6:21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

Finally, there are no such things as 'your own values and individual worth' unless they are GOD'S values and GOD'S worth ...

1st Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Of course you are only twenty and you really don't know much of anything yet, so best to pay attention here and get the real facts, philosopher boy ...
              1st Timothy 2: 9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
1st Timothy 2: 10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works ...

1 Timothy 5: 16 If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed ...

Proverbs 31: 26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness ...
Proverbs 31: 27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness ...

I meant establishing values to follow. As of right now, I just do what I believe is right. I help lend assistance when someone needs an extra hand moving to a new apartment. I do what I believe is right. What I would like to do is know more about what I SHOULD be doing in order to gain a stronger understanding of myself because with a better knowledge of what my own purpose is, then I can build a more solid foundation for which to grow my faith in God.

As for Pastor Ezekial, I'm very a much a young man (And I know I'm quite foolish at times, but I'm trying. Which is more than I can say for others,) and I know I'm quite foolish and I would rather have your respect than a barrage of insults and slaps in the face regarding your unnecessary homo-phobia. Yes, Gays are going to burn in hell, but I don't think reminding everyone about it in all your posts will fix anyone regarding their sexuality. I understand you have very strong beliefs on that as a factor from knowing all of the Bible, but please keep in mind there are some of us that don't. That's why I'm here. TO LEARN.

And thusly, Bible Boot camp begins. Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. Hope to hear more from you all soon.
Your purpose is what you want it to be.
