My name is Lydia and up until about a week ago, I've been unsaved.
I guess the best way to start out is to tell you about my past. You see, I was raised with a Bible in my home, but as a simple coffee table decoration to look good to the neighbors. From what I remember, no one in my family really opened it to read from it.
My parents just told me that Jesus existed, and He'll love me no matter what, as long as I'm a nice person. And I actually believed that!
When I was about 17, I dropped outta high school, thinking I would make it to California to become an actress. I started hitchhiking for travel. (I don't really wanna go into details about what I had to do) I made it as far as Wisconson (I'm originally from NY). At the time I thought "ok, I'll stay here for a little while, get a normal job for some money, and make it to Hollywood later on." So i had managed to get a job at a small restaurant called the Family Restaurant as a waitress.
Everyday I would tell myself "I'll stay for another week, then I'll head for Cali." or "I'll just go next month." and so on.
Neddless to say, I never made it to California and I'm still working at the same restaurant.
1 night last week during my shift a well dressed man and woman (I'm assuming they were married since they were both wearing wedding rings and calling each other "honey" and stuff). They were both in my section and ate very lite meals.
They were both very nice and had left a very generous tip. With their tip they also left something called a "chick tract". I didn't really get a chance to read it until after my shift. It was one called "Back From The Dead".
After I read it, I was touched-and a little confused. The message that I read was completely different than what i was always taught.
My next day off, I went to the local public library to use one of their computers and looked up the "chick tracts". On of the links that Google gave me was your website which led me here.
Because I dropped outta public school and I was never really taught the Bible I need help learning how to become a good True Christian woman.
There is a small Baptist church in the small town I'm living in now, but when I last went there I didn't feel welcomed (most likely because of my past).
Please, I need your help!
