    Hello

    Hello Brothers and Sisters,
My name is Erin. I am a dedicated 45 yr old mother of two. I have come to these forumns to take part in an online Christian community and perhaps even gain insight for my own personal problems at home and with my children. I feel this community is positive in that it delivers some tough love to those who have lost their way.

    A little about myself:
I am a registered nurse in the state of New Jersey and work at the local community hospital where I live. I go to church every week (I am a born-again christian). I've gone through many hard times in my life and suffered from a terrible divorce with my late ex-husband who was an alcoholic. I have tried to support my children who are so dear to me but instead am punished with the unrelenting hate of my son. Perhaps this is my punishment from God for going through divorce? I can only continue to push forward with my life and continue to repent which is why I have come here, Brothers and Sisters, for your help and understanding.

    Luke 4:40
When the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them.

Thank you all so much for your work as an online Christian community.
Walk in the peace of Jesus Christ, our Saviour.
    -Erin A.

    Re: Hello

Welcome to God's favorite forum, ma'am.

What church do you attend? Has your local pastor been able to counsel you properly?

What did you do to drive your husband off? Did he turn queer or something?

If you'd like to find out more about Landover Baptist Church, please read THIS thread created especially for new posters.

If you have a question, use the "search" function before posting it. Most likely it is being discussed somewhere on this Godly forum. Please don't waste God's precious bandwidth.

      Re: Hello

Thank you, Pastor Ezekiel, for all of your info.

I've attended several churches in my area and have found a wonderful little church called The Church of Epiphany. My son used to sing in the choir there when he was a child. My pastor has spoken to me on several occasions about the well-being of my children. Slowly but surely I am coming to terms with everything.

As stated, my late ex-husband was consumed with alcoholism and was a failure in many senses of the word. I tried very hard to stand by him even through the worst times. He eventually stopped working so we separated so that I could support my children without him being drunk and lude around them. My son eventually chose to stay with his father which is why I believe he is a corrupt pagan.

What Bible version are you using over there? I'm not familiar with that church. What denomination is it?

So what did you do to drive him to drink? Was your kitchen floor shiny enough? Were your pies up to snuff? Were you obediant to your husband as the Holy Bible commands?

In my experience as a Pastor, it's usually the woman's fault.

It is a Roman Catholic Church and we use the New American Bible. My husband was a Roman Catholic and I was brought up as a Baptist. I still use his Bible, however, the Catholic Action Edition. It's very old and from his grandmother.

I will not lie and say that our failing marriage was entirely due to his drinking, for during our period of separation I was unfaithful to him. I have repented and attend confession as much as I can. I know I was wrong.

            Welcome to the forums!
The only real version of the Bible is the King James Version, however.
You seem like a nice person though.

Thank you, David Michael. I have my own King James Bible as well, along with my ex-husbands. I read it when I'm on my breaks at the hospital and when I have free time I read verses to some of my elderly christian patients. It is important to respect the religious needs of our elders, especailly those who have befallen illness.

That's just wonderful of you We have a group of volunteers from a youth group come to the hospital every sunday to participate in a mass with some of the children and other patients.

Ok, here's the problem; Roman Catholicks are not Christians. Once you abandonded the Baptist Church, you turned you back on Jesus and started worshiping his mother.

We're willing to help you, but you'll need to repent and quit the papist cult, burn your papist bible, and accept Jesus as your personal Savior and stop worshiping the pope because he's the antichrist.

Better get started today. Jesus could decide to kill you at any moment, and if you're unsaved at that moment, He'll send you down to hell along with the rest of the bead-counters.

Erin, I am curious. As a catlick, how can you get divorced? As far as I know, both your blasphemous 'religion' and we True Christian(tm) Baptists both are fairly clear on this.

I am sure God is punishing you through your children for your scarlet letter. You need to return to your husband and beg his forgiveness.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

I've never looked at it in that way, Sister Mary Maria. It's certainly a difference in perspective. The man I am engaged to now is a Baptist so I suppose this truly is a new beginning for me.

It's interesting how you bring this up because my son had an unpleasant experiance with one of the priests at our church when he was young. I believe he is an athiest of some sort now, but it's very disturbing for me because it seems he is interested in the occult. I've heard him "meditating" and chanting in his room. It frightens me to death, actually. In fact, the other day he called me a "worthless b*tch" and a "whore." He is 23 yrs old and I do not know what I can do to save him.

And, since you all advise it, I will consider leaving my current church. James Hutchins, unfortunately I have no husband to return to for he died two years ago.
