Hello True Christians, it is good to finally find a place of compassion for Christ on the internet! My name is Octavius and I have a wife and six well-diciplined children. I have tried many websites, but they all seemed to be too tolerant of the Homers, Joos, and sand people. I hope to learn more about Christ in his all-loving ways to better myself as a man. I hope you see that I am a follower of the lord just like all of you!

Welcome, despite having a name that sounds like a Roman persecutor of Our Lord (I bet you get that a lot....)Originally posted by Octavius View PostHello True Christians, it is good to finally find a place of compassion for Christ on the internet! How about a bit more information? What church do you go to? When did you give your heart to Jesus? What is your favorite Bible verse? Why don't you capitalize "Lord" (I'm not a Spelling Nazi, mind you, but must point this one out for a soft introductory Rebuke.)
What is your favorite Bible verse?Leviticus 13:44 He is a leprous man, he is UNCLEAN: the priest shall pronounce him utterly UNCLEAN; his plague is in his head.
2 Kings 6:25 And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver.

I am a bit concerned about your racial hatred towards Jew & Sand People. Racism is not accepted here.
The person you need prove to that you love the Lord is the Lord himself.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth
Proverbs 19:25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
Ezekiel 16:14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.
Proverbs 6:25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
Genesis 24:16 And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
Song of Solomon 1:15 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes.

Re: Hello all
First off, I know my name seems un-Godly, but it is mine and I cannot change it. I assure you that my parents chose this name only because I was the eight child. I attend First Baptist Church. I was raised Baptist, and have been committed to Christ since baptism. I have no racial hatred; homosexuality, Judaism, and Islam are not races. And lastly, my favorite Bible verse is "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God."

Re: Hello all
Well actually Octoberfest, you CAN change your name if you really want to. That is one of the only good laws of the land that has been put into place; that being; being able to change ones name by deed poll. I know of many a former homer for example who have changed their names from nancy-boy names like: Brett, Crispin and Herve, to good solid Biblical names like: Nathaniel, Zebedee, Abimael or Sampson (just to name a few of the THOUSANDS to choose from); or good AMERICAN names like Billy Bob or George. GOD had no issue with changing names of people at whim if he saw fit, so why would doing the same not be good enough for YOU!?Originally posted by Octavius View PostFirst off, I know my name seems un-Godly, but it is mine and I cannot change it. I would also suggest, considering you claim to be have been raised in the Baptist faith, you ONLY use the KJV1611 when quoting Bible verse. God frowns on the blasphemous lies of the NIV and any other false and obviously inferior bastardized "interpretation" of the KJV1611.

Yes, I could legally change my name, but it would displease my parents. I honor my father and mother, and I choose to keep the name they gave me. (Please refrain from calling me anything other than my name. Thanks.) And I did use a KJV verse: Ephesians 2:8.

Re: Hello all
Honoring GOD who IS your Father is far more important and sir, your passage may well have been Ephesians, but it was the NIV "version". The hyperlink you provided states it as such!Originally posted by Octavius View PostYes, I could legally change my name, but it would displease my parents. As to your "request" I am a True Christian here and you are to hold a civil tongue in your head when addressing me and any other True Christian. I refuse to call you any name that has anything at all to do with Caesar!

Re: Hello all
Sorry, but I'll have to disagree again. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/...:8&version=KJV
And I meant no offense, I'd just like to be called by my name. Fine if you don't want to.
