HI, I am new to these blessed forums in Christ.

So what can I say about myself...

Well before Christ entered me, I was one of those blaspheming atheists, Having a degree in astrophysics. Oh woe is me in thinking the message of God was less than the method of scientific enquiry. Thankfully, I did not get a job in the evil studies of science - most astrophysicists end up working for the governments, making the holy weapons of mass destruction - nuclear bombs and the such, but me in my naivety as an atheist at the time, objected to that research.

But finally, discovering the true word of God, made me a Christian, unrelentless in searching his true message.

And here I am now, quivering in both fear and adoration, at the feet of God, and his true church.

I now see, that thinking that God and morality need to be logical, is illogical, since HE created logic, and therefore cannot be subject to it, because HE is omnipotent. The True God is beyond such frail human efforts to understand, only by HIS bible, can we gain guidance for righteous living.

But I am here to gain guidance, from those more advanced on the path to our LORD and SAVIOUR, and I humbly request assistance from those with greater understanding of the LORD in HIS most favoured church.

I can't tell you how glad I become everytime I look at a new thread in the introduction forum and discover that the new member isn't another deluded freak but in fact a good Christian person!

We are indeed humble before God™, as we are but his children. And who are children to challenge (or even try to understand) their parent?

I rejoice that the Lord™ has set out a path for me. And I say, GLORY!

I'm homosexual, Athiest, and have a PHD in Astrophysics (although I know you have no idea what that is.)

Anyway, it'll be good to have someone who actually knows something about the universe and the Bible to shed some light on the wonders of the Heavens.

Really amazing, I just ran a quick check of the hiring rate of "astrophysicists"

So, comparing 260 openings to 1200 job seekers, the odds of getting some kind of tenure-track academic job are about 1 in 5 during the first few years after getting your PhD. In the longer run, if you become one of the "senior hires", the odds increase to about 30%, maybe more.

However, most of those are not at a research university like the one where you earned (or are working on) your PhD. Comparing 60 to 1200 tells a different story for that part of the market. The odds of a recent PhD getting a job at a research university are only about 1 in 20.

If you want to get an astrophysics degree to teach at a two year college or do low level programming, then please go right ahead. I personally think you'll find those jobs harder to get than they sound, but there is some precedent for hiring physicists instead of engineers and programmers - often they're cheaper.

On the other hand, if you want to actually work in astrophysics, you'd best have your game together, because your career options are limited, at best.

Then again, there are a number of "quick degree" places that will give you a PhD in astrophysics for the right price.

Finally, someone outlines the fear one should have of HELL! You see, hell is an awful place to go. Atheists are forever saying "well all the cool people will be in hell", no, by definition they will all be flaming hot! But on a serious note, they wont get to "hang" with their "homies" at all. It will probably be more like the opposite.

That's why 40% of astrophysicists end up working for the nuclear weapons industry -the study of fusion is covered in detail, along with pressure gradients in stellar mechanics to induce fusion, (light pressure vs gravity).

But that is not the truth - you nearly made me think scientifically!

And no, I do not know that gay atheist astrophysicist - but then again, is their any other kind - except me. I have escaped that sinful theology of science and reason. Praise the lord!

As to my favourite bible verse - Leviticus 19:18

“‘Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD."

So my brothers (and sisters) - I will bear you no grudge, but those sinners like genuine Christians and atheists - watch out, you are not the children of God.

I cannot wait to get to heaven, and watch those who oppressed me in life be tortured in the eternal flames of hell. Such wonderful entertainment God gives to us true believers.

Don't e scared of HELL my dear, HELL is not real, it is a fictional place like Heaven, a silly story designed to keep kids in their beds at night.

Repent, and submit to proper husbandly authority, so you may go to heaven.
