    Make Me Understand

I will consider myself a decent Christan. I will be the first to admit, I'm not the best out there. However, when I first came to this site, I will be honest I'm a bit intimidated.

I mean, it seems if I even breathe wrong I'm going to hell. ( Please don't take this as an insult. )

I want someone, to pretty much show me the light. What am I doing wrong?

I believe in God and Jesus, I wear my Great Grandmother's cross all the time (it never comes off), I even hope that when I do become a doctor that I could go to less fortunate countries and help them.

    Just, please explain to me.

I think that's an easy question, right?

Wearing a piece of jewelry means nothing. I do hope you are female, since you're wearing a woman's jewelry. Either way, it's just a piece of metal. Wearing it won't get you any closer to God.

What are you doing wrong? Have you read the entire Bible? Are you following every one of God's 600+ commands?

Going to another country to witness to the unsaved is a great idea, but works will not save you. You must REPENT of all your sins, and stop sinning. If you don't read the Bible, you can't even know what all your sins ARE, can you?
      Bible boring? Nonsense!

You can't be a Christian if you don't know God's Word!

I have no idea if you're doing anything wrong, maybe you aren't. There just isn't enough information in your post.

Let's start at the beginning, do you have a KJV1611 Bible? Do you follow it to the letter?

          Re: Make Me Understand

It's pretty simple, really. Beg Jesus to enter you and fill you with the Holy Spirit. You must be washed in His Blood and undergo a full immersion baptism from a True Christian™ Pastor. Then you must devote yourself to studying the Word of God.

          I Timothy 4:13
Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

Devour every last word in the Holy Bible (KJV 1611) and live your life in accordance with every instruction contained within. Do not rely on your own thinking, but let God's Word do the thinking for you.

          Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

By living your life in fear and obedience, you will be made perfect in the eyes of the LORD.

          Deuteronomy 13:4
Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.

It's easy. All you have to do is stop thinking for yourself. In other words, have faith.
          II Thessalonians 1:7-9
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power

The man who is being progressively sanctified will inescapably sanctify his home, school, politics, economics, science, and all things else by understanding and interpreting all things in terms of the Word of God and by bringing all things under the Dominion of Christ the King. -R.J. It sounds like you are a very good person but that has nothing to do with Christianity. It doesn't matter if you wear your cross proudly and wish to go help a 3rd world country after you become a doctor. It doesn't matter that you may do countless kind, unselfish, heroic acts all over the world. You could be a low down lazy piece of crud; it just doesn't matter. Dont worry about going to hell if you breathe wrong. You can "breathe wrong" all your live-long day. The only thing that matters is that you give your life to Jesus; but not in a crazy 'crash planes into buildings' way because that would be crazy hun. No, give your life to Jesus by never accepting responsibility for your actions and assuming that all of your evil deeds are forgiven because you prayed for it. It doesn't matter if you are a murderer, rapist, thief that causes great suffering in the world while your brother is a loving father of 3 that spends all of his time volunteering in community outreach programs. If you pray and get saved before you die but your brother doesn't then rest easy because you will rise to heaven as your brother burns in hell.
Fat people please stop eating so much. I'm getting tired of looking at you.

You really have no idea what it is to be saved by the Lord, do you? A saved person is never a "piece of crud", they are never a bad person because once they are saved they are washed clean of all sin and that is an impressive, amazing, awe-inspiring thing.

This whole world waits upon the moment you are saved, it is the single best thing that can happen to you. Once you are saved you really are on a higher plain, because you know you are going to heaven.

You make it seem like the moment you clasp your hands together and try to talk to Jesus you are saved. I vouch yourself isn't quite so inclined to accept Jesus as you hope yourself is. Never, ever before has a piece of crud accepted Jesus and become saved, logically, because if they do, they 'aint no piece of crud.

Indeed. Remember that Salvation™ is available to all, and it is never too late to accept the LORD's kind offer of Redemption. But don't take my word for it; ask Jeffery Dahmer, who now sings in Jesus' Heavenly Choir.
