      Hi there,

      I am a 23 year old white independent woman. I stay in the mother city of Cape Town which is the most beautiful place on earth.

      I do software development for a living, I recently moved down from Johannesburg, which is quite far. It is a two hour flight from Cape Town to Johannesburg. Which is quite sad as my parents still stay in Johannesburg and i miss them very much.

      Apartheid was revoked before I was born, my folks still on occasion tell me of how it was during this time, and that the reason it was revoked was due to other countries refusing to trade with us because we did this.

      AIDS is a terrible problem, but it really is worse in other parts of Africa. It is not as bad here as you might think


      Anyhoo, I go to the new reformed church, a new community I am currently getting to know and they are great.

      My favorite verse!
      John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another

        I have spent some time reading through these forums.

        I would like my account deactivated.

        I do not agree with the way you follow God. And now I understand why there are wars with Christianity.
        Badger me, say I'm going to hell and that my soul is damned. etc etc. I really, really don't care, luckily, God knows me, and we're good.

        What happened to treat others like you would like yourself being treated?

        Another question, if you follow the Bible to the detail, what are you doing on the internet? What are you doing on a computer? You can't point to me and say my soul is going to burn, when you condemn people yourself, that is God's job. You are not God.

        Women, homosexuals and all races are equal. What makes you think you are better?

        Oh by the way, "White and proud" blah blah.

        Jesus was a Jew...

        For all the newcomers, stay away from this site, the only thing it does, is to make you negative. Jesus is my friend, I do not fear him. How else am I to walk with him.

          My my my. You've gone a little schizophrenic dear. You should learn to be a little more tolerant of others' beliefs you know.

          Personally speaking I do not think of myself as better than the next man, as long as the next man is a True Christian, of course.

          Humility is something we can all use from time to time. Try it.

          Anyway, your command of English is quite good. Are you a Cape Dutch speaker by any chance?

            I am tolerant, it has been an immense culture shock on some of these posts.
            Cape Dutch is Afrikaans as I know it. It is my home language.

              The shock is only initial. Once you understand you have to believe and act upon the whole Bible (all of it) you can see things in a context which is pleasing to God, after all He wrote it, didn't he?

              As for the home language you have, I recognised through your English structuring that you would probably be a Cape Dutch speaker. I work with a female from Pretoria and noticed some similarities there. It's a more pleasant dialect than real Dutch too by the way. And easier to understand, being simplified and reduced in its grammar and vocabulary. I quite like it anyway.

                Just interested, as to me it appears normal - But of course it would because I am used to it. So just curious?

                  I'm not a linguist for nothing. I see patterns. Patterns and structures. YOu can often tell a person's native language through the way they write in English.

                  A person who writes 'What are you wanting?' is very likely to be Irish or Scottish, as that's the native Celtic way of expressing 'What do you want?'

                  Someone who says: 'What happen?' is going to be a Spaniard or a dago from another part of the Latin speaking areas.

                  I just noticed the Cape Dutch patterns similar to those my female colleague uses, that's all.

                    Do you think we have taken any scripture out of context here? Perhaps you think we are not following the Bible as He intended people to follow it? If so, please explain to us where we've taken scripture out of context and have made private interpretations of it, and we will gladly accept your rebuking.

                        I do not think that you have taken any scripture out of context, or that you are wrong. But I was raised to believe that I have an all loving, all forgiving God. And yet I see that His followers on here do not believe this. I feel that there is a fear created for God that He does not deserve. I do believe that each and every person worships their God the way that they see fit.

                        If I want to stand in a queue in a shopping mall, and silently pray, I feel this is great to me.

                        I feel that the old ways of teaching Gods word is not helping anymore to get the youth convinced as to how amazing God is. That we need a new way of teaching this to the youth (Myself included)

                        If I want to say MY GOD IS AMAZING, then it is not wrong. If I want to say that slavery is wrong, I am not wrong.

                        It has been quite a shock to see that here it does not work like this. I see all people, black, homosexual etc, to be the same. And Christians. I believe that it does not matter who you are, it is the way you worship God that defines you.

                        I can be a black gay man, and still be a Christian, and nothing is wrong with that.

                        Like I said, this has been a huge culture shock to me.

                            I tell it like I see it. I am always honest and I express my opinions. Where i am then shown to be wrong, I take it as a lesson. How else do we learn?

                            I believe that you have to be wrong in order to learn lessons.

                            For instance, If I had not said that I thought Jesus was a Jew, you would not have corrected me.

                            I was also taught growing up that cussing is not wrong. I was taught to live according to the ten commandments and to me the only true form of swearing is using the Lords name in vain.

                            But bottom line, I am young. I join forums to learn. I might not have come across like this in my rant. So for that i must apologize.

                              The problem is that your conception of God simply does not fit with the way God presents Himself in the Bible. Let me draw your attention again to the scripture I previously posted, along with another few verses.

                              "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation." 2 Peter 1:20

                              "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." 2 Timothy 3:16-17

                              Think about those verses for a moment. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, not just the parts you like to hear. No prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation, not interpret the scripture you don't enjoy. There are no exceptions.

                              You can be a homosexual black man and call yourself a Christian, but it is a truly meaningless designation. The Bible clearly states that homosexuals are going to Hell.

                              "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination." Leviticus 18:22

                              "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." Leviticus 20:13

                              "Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;" Romans 1:25-28

                              "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,"
                              1 Corinthians 6:9

                              "Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;"
                              1 Timothy 1:9-10

                              So we can see that God clearly does not like homosexuals and will punish them with an eternity of Hellfire, but now let me draw your attention to these two verses.

                              "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law."
                              James 2:10-11

                              In God's eyes, a homosexual is just as bad as a murderer, a thief, a rapist, or an adulterer. All sins are equal (with the exception of blasphemy against the Holy Ghost, but that's not part of this discussion). You may not like to hear it, but that's what God, Jesus and the Bible all say.

                              Now let me ask you a question. If you don't agree with what the Bible says, why even bother calling yourself a Christian at all? Of course we here would prefer you repent of your sins and truly accept Jesus, but if you don't want to do that, why delude yourself into thinking you're a Christian?

                              In short, God is all-loving and all-forgiving, but it's not unconditional. You need to work for it!
