  • Seeking the truth

Thank you for creating this site and having an open forum.

I am married with no children (sadly my wife had cancer which prohibits her from being able to bear children). Obviously, I have no sons.

I am a white male from a very religious area in Michigan. I grew up in a Christian Reformed church. My favorite verse is John 11:35.

My wife makes great apple pies and keeps a very clean home.

I wish to learn more about heaven and the rapture. Again thanks for having this forum.

Welcome to the forums, Idiocracy'sRevenge. I know you'll find the fellowship here a truly wholesome experience. If I may be so intrusive to ask, what toil or labor do you do for the Lord Jesus Christ? Also, if your wife is not to bear sons, what use does she make of herself besides baking apple pies and cleaning? Praise Him that you've found a wonderful forum such as this!

Submerged In The Holy Blood Of Redemption,
    Harry Lester

    P.s.
What exactly is a Christian Reformed Church? Was there something wrong with their Christianity before they reformed?
Slathered in the Fresh Hot Blood of the Infant Christ,

I'm an Atheist but I can already see that God hates your wife. Is she an Atheist too?

No intrusion, I promote Jesus. My wife creates an income for the household so we may live a Republican lifestyle. Praise those who accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour.

As for the Christian Reformed Church, I cannot speak to their prior Christianity. I do know they adher to a version of the King James Bible, but I am not sure which version.

          And welcome.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

I am quite concerned about your wife's income. You have not mentioned what she does. How do you keep her in subjection if she is "working"?

Welcome to God's favorite forum. My advice is to dump your wife and get a healthy young one who can bear you some sons. It's the Christian thing to do AND the Republican thing to do.

Confused? What would possibly make you think God hates my wife. If God hates my wife he must hate me too. By extension, why would God hate me?

Thank you for the great passages. Since I am new I decided to start from the beginning and opened my Bible to Genesis. I was startled to read in Chapter 2 of "the heavens". Verse 4 speaks of "heavens". I know I am going to need help with understanding this concept. Is there another heaven? I was always under the impression there is one heaven. Please help. Thanks.

No, there is only one Heaven, just like when somebody says "the oceans" they are referring to the large single body of water that surrounds the continents.

Anyways, I'm sorry to hear your wife has been struck by barrenness. Do you think it might have something to do with the fact that she went to a doctor instead of relying on prayer and trusting the Lord?

"And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians." 2 Chronicles 16:12

"O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen."

"Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him." Welcome to God's favorite forum. Indeed there is only one Heaven, just as there is only one God.

Once upon a time I was confused by the following verse, but came to understand it:

Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

I understand this to mean the sky above us, not Heaven where God and the saved reside. I hope that helps.
But whosoever shall deny me before men,
him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

Of course you cannot divorce her. Hopefully, Jesus will see she is a bad person and will take her away so you can marry a proper, undamaged female to bear you sons. I was fortunate my first wife fell down a abandoned well.

Thanks, I see the plural is not to be taken literally. I was confused because "the earth" is singular but "the heavens" is plural. Using your example, although we have multiple oceans by name, the complete body of water surrounding the land masses (continents) is a singular connected ocean. I guess I am confused again, I used "ocean" singular when referring to this large water mass. I do not wish to debate whether there are multiple heavens. Please clarify the meaning of Genesis 2:4 so I can continue with my studies.
