Hello,
As I'm sure you can guess, I'm Roman Catholic. I realize that this may alienate me, but I am interested in joining your conversation. My favorite chapter of the bible is John 6. I especially like John 6:54-56, " Anyone who does eat my flesh and drink my blood has eternal life, and I shall raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me and I live in him." I've always been Catholic and I love it. I was home schooled for high school, but in general I'm just a normal girl. I'm looking forward to our discussions!

Just a heads up: according to these guys, if you don't convert to this church, and if you don't give them your money, and if you don't do every single thing these guys say, then you'll receive a harsh label, or possibly banned.

I'm 18, don't have any kids, and don't plan to get married any time soon. But, as I'm sure you've heard in Gen 1:28, "Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth and conquer it." Therefore, even though I'm a papist, it would still be good to have children. Your argument is invalid.

More like you're invalid. You're 18 and not even married yet? And you don't even have a desire to? So why are you disobeying Gen 1:28 (and 1 Timothy 2:15)? What's the plan then....live in sin with one series of one after another guys you meet up at the local dive bar?

Catlicks generally do love this... so much, in fact, that you believe the wafer literally is actual flesh and that the wine literally is actual blood. It's perverse. You literally have no ability whatsoever to divine the meaning of this passage of scripture. It doesn't help that you read from a corrupt translation of the Bible, of course.

With respect, sir, people cannot themselves be invalid. I do not plan to start a family until my husband and I can support one; it would be very irresponsible to be unable to provide for a family and depend on the charity of others to make up for our own foolishness. I am distressed that you think so little of Catholics and young women in general. As a Catholic I believe that sex ought to be saved for marriage, and domestic partnerships such as you describe must not be thought equal to marriage in any way. These beliefs, are similar to those held by those of your church, correct?

Is the meaning not clear enough? Christ said the same thing time and again in that chapter alone. You must have read it several times, as this chapter is still in the King James Version. My father was Baptist before he became Catholic, so I have a KJV bible available for reference. It is a beautiful translation, to be sure.
See Matthew 26:26-28, Mark 14:22-24, and below:


Luke 22:14-20 "And the hour was cone, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him. And he said unto them, with desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: for I say unto you I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, take this, and divide it among yourselves: for I say unto you I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. And he took the bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave it to them, saying, this is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood which is shed for you."



Whether or not you cite biblical inerrancy, Christ himself said these things and that cannot be disputed. The gospel writers were merely recording the words of Christ; they did not need to be inspired. These words are not metaphors: Christ did not say "this is a symbol of my body and blood" or "this is like my body and blood". Many of his followers said in John 6:60 "This is an hard saying; who can hear it?" Does it offend you too? Do you not believe Christ?

Could you please make an effort to at least appear intelligent? I said the argument was invalid, not an invalid. There is clearly a difference, but I guess I cannot expect too much from you. I am sorry the school system which you were a part of failed you so miserably. It is difficult to respect you when you act in such an immature manner.
