On winter it is polite to replace moose with seal.
Wouldn't the reindeer being semi domesticated make them easier to hunt? I would think that would be a good thing.

Maybe yes if you are in hurry, but it is not very hunt like per se. I mean you can basically just round them up in pens and as they are not very large you can just walk up to them and put them down by means of your choise.

Hunting and killing wild game, say 1000 pound moose, really shows that man is the peak of creation.

The children must love it! What do they do, just walk up to them and wallop them on the head with a hammer?

I know my littlest kids get very upset they cannot hold a rifle yet. And you know how kids are with hand guns. So for the 2 to 4 year old set, being able to hunt with a hammer would give them the thrill of the kill.

Since they are small, can you mail them (the reindeer, kids are too feisty to mail)?

Ah yes, I did not think of it from children point of view. You could easily kill one wiht hammer, but 2-4 year child. I'm not sure. Considering that they can't swing that hard the hammer should be quite heavy. And that brings the problem of lifting the hammer. Reindeers ain't THAT small. Same goes for mailing, I don't think post office would take them, but I see no problme traspoting them via some shipping company.

On this kids with guns problem my recommended solution with reindeers would be crossbow. Something like this http://www.hortonarchery.com/vision-175.aspx. Sorry for cheap add. I know it's not the same as gun, but give more shooting feeling than hammer. And even child as small as 2 should be able to shoot it if you load it hor him and then support bow agains some fence or so. Crossbow packs still enough punch to bring one reindeer down with 2-3 even unclean hits.

Oh, sorry for many typos. Sheer excitement of thinking reindeers and crossbows took better of me.

Do not worry, The idea of little children with weapons gets me excited too.

              Thanks for all your information.
It is something I'll certainly consider. Perhaps as a special surprise, next Christmas I'll have a few tied to stakes in the front yard for the little ones to shoot arrows at Christmas morning. Can you imagine their faces?

Bringing joy to children and nourish people at our saviour's birthday. Such an honor for this noble animal would surely be worth of cover story in any animal rights magazine.
