    Christian newcomer

God's blessings everyone! My name is Mark and I'm 26. I attend a reformed Baptist church.

The acronym TULIP is a fair summary of the beliefs of my church.

    Total depravity
    Unconditional election
    Limited atonement
    Irresistible grace
    Perseverance of the saints

I am also a big proponent of the King James Bible, hence my user name. It is the only reliable Biblical translation.

    My favorite verse:

Eph 2:8-9: For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man may boast.

    - kjv

Aside from the Bible I often find inspiration in the works of Martin Luther and John Calvin. D. James Kennedy and James White are contemporary authors I sometimes read. I add the caveat that I disagree with JW's anti- KJV stance, although his understanding of salvation and other matters are sound.

I left a dead church when God called me, through nothing I had done, to join a Biblical church. The last straw was my old church's ecumenical dinner, to which a Romish congregation and an Episcopalian church with a gay pastor were invited.

I also speak German, so feel welcome to respond to me auf deutsch. Whatever floats your boat.

I have lurked for a little while and I am impressed with the quality of discussion on these boards. I look forward to some good Christian fellowship!

    In Christ,

    - Mark, "SOT1611"

Welcome. How many soldiers for Jesus have you sired? How long does it take for you to clean your guns? What is your wife's best pie?

Since we speak American here, I doubt we will be speaking much German. Nicht wahr?

        Lieber Freund:

Wie geht es Ihnen? Willkommen auf dem Lieblingsforum des Gottes.
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

Welcome, young man. My heart is filled with joy that the LORD has guided you here. The Holy Spirit is telling me that you are probably among Jesus' elect. I look forward to sharing in fellowship and exhortation with you!
          II Thessalonians 1:7-9
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power

The man who is being progressively sanctified will inescapably sanctify his home, school, politics, economics, science, and all things else by understanding and interpreting all things in terms of the Word of God and by bringing all things under the Dominion of Christ the King. -R.J. Thank you for the hearty welcome, fellow Christians.

As per Bible student's question: at the moment I am without a wife or sons. Most of the girls around here are unsaved, and the good book tells me my wife and I should be equally yoked (2 Corinthians 6:14.)

I'm also looking for someone of my own ethnicity (Dutch, English, German, Afrikaner etc. are fine - preferably no dark Scots or Irish and absolutely no Italians.) I am of the view that God created the races and I will not miscegenate as it is against his will.

Pastor Isaac: mir geht es gut. Ich fuehle mich sehr geehrt. Ich freue mich drauf, an diesem Forum teil zu nehmen.

              A warm welcome and may you one day find a suitable wife to command. I don´t speak german, but I´m pretty sure that you said;

"The spacestation is ok. I´m putting more fuel in my ride. I´ll free my dwarf, when someone at this Forum says his name."

Hope that was even somewhat close

And we are looking forward to engaging in prolific conversations with you about Baby Jesus. So tell us, how did you find God's favorite church and Interwebs forum?

                  Re: Christian newcomer

To tell you the truth it was kind of simple. I just typed "baptist forum" into google. Yes, a bit scattershot I know. The site was one of the first few results.

I then noticed that your church dates from 1620, meaning that you are firmly rooted in the principles of the Protestant Reformation, without any of the more recent John Wesley/Billy Graham/James Dobson/anyone can be saved/the Catholics are our friends/Jesus died for everyone/our will is our own corruptions.

I then found a site that I do not care to visit again referring to your church as a "parody of fundamentalist Christianity" or something of the sort. Jesus said his church would be persecuted, and it seems Landover gets more than its share of trolls and flamers.

                    Hello, Mark!

It's nice to see a good strapping young Christian fellow wander in here instead of the usual godless Finns, cherry-picking Episcopalians, and devil-lusting Danish princesses that seem to overrun this site like nigras at an untended watermelon patch.

I pray that you will soon find a woman, and I agree that you should find someone who shares your beliefs.

(Amos 3:3) "Can two walk together, except they be agreed?"

                    Welcome!

                    Yours in Christ,

You can say that again, Mark!

And may I add, it's also refreshing to see someone capable of Christian discernment. You know lies when you see them. Well done!
