Why would I be nice to an enemy? That doesnt make sense at all. Ghandi thought like that and hes dead. Jesus isnt a hippy.

You say you "follow the bible to to t," but the bible has several things to say on how you should treat your enemy:
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
(Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you)
Surely this is being kind
If you see the donkey of someone who hates you fallen down under its load, do not leave it there; be sure you help them with it.

No, but I own very little, at several different points in time, I have gotten money for various occasions and given it all to the poor.

Ah, this is an interesting question, but I would have to go with no.
I wouldn't hate them; at this point they would become my enemies, and as I've stated before GOD tells us how to treat them. GOD also says to obey your father and mother, but I trust if my parents were to come in between be and GOD that GOD would intervene and show me a way out!

Even knowing that Jesus did not come to bring peace, but to set us at variance against one another?

Jesus even denied His own mother to illustrate that only those who are willing to do his father's will are his mothers, brothers and sisters.

Are you willing to do the same for the sake of the Kingdom?
