It's not Jesus that's bad, it's just you guys use too many scare tactics (even if they're true) and someone would have to be really masochist to want to go through everything that you say... I don't know, I guess for you guys it's a way of life but for me it would require radical change. Not that I'm against change, but it seems like you guys follow to bible to the letter, which doesn't sit well with me. I'm someone who like a little leeway in life!

So you want an easy Jesus, one that says "sinning is cool, just feel guilty about it afterward". Perhaps the Catholic church is more to your liking.

Nowhere in the Bible does it say that salvation is easy, in fact it tells us that we will be hated and persecuted for our beliefs because we are "not of this world". If that makes us masochists for Jesus, then so be it. What's 80 or so years of torture compared to an eternity in Heaven or Hell?

Hello everyone I am Nohbodie, an 18 year old Canadian college student.

I have spent my entire life as an Atheist, and I cannot understand why religion would be needed in my life. I cannot fathom an omnipotent being knowing our every action, let alone fathom that he had created the universe. Sure the big bang may not be able to explain the universe down to the last detail, but then again the Bible cannot explain evolution? I don't mean to offend anyone, I'm just trying to see the world through your eyes...

Does your name refer to the chink "Noh" (or "Nogaku") form of theater? If so, it has several strikes against it, to wit:

1. It has chinamen in it. I don't think this really needs an explanation or a Biblical admonition.

2. The guys dress as women.

(Deuteronomy 22:5) "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God."

3. None of the current plays praise Jesus in any way whatsoever.

I have written several letters to the head of the Jap Cultural Commission to see if they will correct this monumental oversight, but they have not been courteous enough to reply (this is why the phrase "oriental hospitality" never caught on, I reckon).

Well John, the reason why I wanted to see what other religions are like is because it will help me with the bigger picture.

Studying multiple religions leads those weak in their faith invariably to damnation. People see similarities between Christianity and false religions, and then assume either that Christianity "stole" basic morality from others, or that basic morality is "universal". They then start spouting off about people making up gods to suit their culture, man-made deities that look just like their creators. Nothing could be further from the truth, when Christianity is concerned!

Those other cults, well, yes. They either made up gods that they liked, or they worshipped demons.

I think I may go have a look at Buddhism, I hear they can achieve a great state of mind by living in the present!

So, Christianity would be "a big change" for you, but giving up all attachment to human life wouldn't? Buddhism is nihilism; in order to be "happy", they want you to be completely detached from the beautiful world God has created to test you in for approximately 80 years, to determine whether you are worthy to praise Him in Heaven for trillions of years to come!

Wait a minute, hold up.

We are telling you what the Bible says. God's Word. The only way to know who Jesus is. If we are Biblically Correct, how can you say WE are bad, but Jesus is not? How can Jesus be good, if WE, who are Biblically Correct, are bad?

I thought you atheists were supposed to be logical folks.

. . . so you don't want truth, you don't want to obey God, you want to do whatever you like and believe you won't be punished for it. Right?

You want to find a "religion" that suits you, instead of seeking objective Truth and following it. That way, you can change absolutely nothing about yourself, but can fill the God-shaped hole in your heart with some pleasing lies and not have to call yourself "atheist".

Perhaps you should try secular humanism. That way, you can convince yourself that you are a good person, and even do nice things for others "because it's the right thing to do", and feel good about yourself when God damns you to His Lake of Fire for not believing in Him.

It might at least keep you from raping and eating babies, like the atheists are prone to do.

Honestly, I don't think being a Baptist is for me, I was looking at some of the "Trophies" listed under each users' name and found a handful of them to be somewhat offensive...

The truth is offensive to you? How horrible your life must be.

I don't know, maybe if it was another time and another place it would have been the thing for me, but the way you guys flaunt your religious fervor is somewhat intimidating to someone like myself. I think I may go have a look at Buddhism, I hear they can achieve a great state of mind by living in the present!

If the only joy you are concerned about is present, then you will be disappointed. You will miss eternal joy and bliss, and what you think is joy in this life will really be fleeting pleasure.

No, we have not opened your eyes. You have hardened your heart to the truth. Before coming to a forum to find God, I suggest you take two good full read through passes the KJV. Well first the KJV, then the true word being a 1611 KJV. Until then, you are making an uneducated decision.
